chrome-devtools-mcp-adspower

chrome-devtools-mcp-adspower is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from pencil20388-eng/browser-automation-skills. It costs 0 tokens per session (1,474 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A connection between Chrome DevTools MCP, which lets an agent inspect and control a browser, and AdsPower profiles, which provide separate browser identities.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to open AdsPower profiles and have a coding agent inspect pages, monitor requests, run JavaScript, and take screenshots through Chrome DevTools.
Why use it?
It lets browser automation use distinct profiles with their own fingerprints, cookies, proxies, and network addresses.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00000 $0.01474
Opus 5 $0.00000 $0.00737
Sonnet 5 $0.00000 $0.00295
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00147

Security

Grade A, and why

chrome-devtools-mcp-adspower scanned grade A with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Chrome DevTools MCP + AdsPower Integration Skill

Connect Google's Chrome DevTools MCP to AdsPower antidetect browser profiles. This lets AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex CLI) control fingerprint-isolated browser sessions through natural language.

Why This Combination

  • Chrome DevTools MCP gives AI agents eyes in the browser: inspect DOM, monitor network, run JavaScript, take screenshots
  • AdsPower gives each browser session a unique fingerprint, proxy, and identity
  • Together: your AI agent can operate across multiple isolated browser identities — each with its own fingerprint, cookies, and IP address
Claude Code → Chrome DevTools MCP → AdsPower Profile (unique fingerprint + proxy)
                                  → AdsPower Profile (unique fingerprint + proxy)
                                  → AdsPower Profile (unique fingerprint + proxy)

How It Works

AdsPower's Local API opens browser profiles and exposes a Chrome DevTools Protocol (CDP) endpoint for each one. Chrome DevTools MCP connects to that endpoint via --browserUrl.

Prerequisites

  • AdsPower installed and running (paid plan with API access)
  • Chrome DevTools MCP installed (npm install -g chrome-devtools-mcp@latest)
  • API Key generated (AdsPower → Automation → API → Generate)
  • Python 3.8+ with requests installed

Step 1: Open an AdsPower Profile and Get the CDP Endpoint

import requests

API_KEY = "your_api_key"
BASE_URL = "http://local.adspower.net:50325"
HEADERS = {"Authorization": f"Bearer {API_KEY}"}

PROFILE_ID = "your_profile_id"

# Open the browser profile
resp = requests.get(
    f"{BASE_URL}/api/v1/browser/start?user_id={PROFILE_ID}",
    headers=HEADERS,
    timeout=30,
).json()

if resp["code"] == 0:
    # This is the CDP WebSocket endpoint
    ws_endpoint = resp["data"]["ws"]["puppeteer"]
    debug_port = ws_endpoint.split(":")[2].split("/")[0]
    print(f"CDP WebSocket: {ws_endpoint}")
    print(f"Debug port: {debug_port}")
else:
    print(f"Error: {resp['msg']}")

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

chrome-devtools-mcp-adspower is a skill published in the GitHub repository pencil20388-eng/browser-automation-skills (4 stars, last pushed 3mo ago), licensed MIT. It costs nothing until one of its globs matches a file; then it loads 1,474 tokens. A static security scan graded it A with 1 finding (makes network calls). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
