add-comfy-workflow-template

add-comfy-workflow-template is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from peteromallet/VibeComfy. It costs 64 tokens per session (562 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A workflow for turning a ComfyUI source workflow into a reusable VibeComfy template. ComfyUI is a tool for building media-generation workflows by connecting processing steps.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when adding a permanent ready template, model family, or media-generation capability, including coverage records and validation.
Why use it?
It provides a defined process for registering the workflow, its models, and any required custom-node packages so the template can be reused later.

Written for no agent in particular: nothing here depends on one.

Needs its repository: it runs a file that does not travel with it, so clone the repository first. The line is VIBECOMFY_MATRIX_SCOPE=<family> uv run python scripts/runpod_corpus_matrix.py.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00064 $0.00562
Opus 5 $0.00032 $0.00281
Sonnet 5 $0.00013 $0.00112
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00056

Security

Grade A, and why

add-comfy-workflow-template scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 56 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Add Comfy Workflow Template

Use this only for durable package templates. For a one-off user composition, create a gitignored recipes/ file instead.

Read docs/templates/adding_templates_models.md before broad template or model-family work.

Fast Path

  1. Choose a stable id: <media>/<lower_snake_model_capability>.
  2. Store source JSON close to upstream:
ready_templates/sources/official/<media>/<id>.json
ready_templates/sources/community/<source>/<id>.json
ready_templates/sources/custom_nodes/<pack>/<source>/<id>.json
  1. Add or update ready_templates/sources/manifests/coverage.json.
  2. Declare custom-node packs in vibecomfy/node_packs.py or the relevant pack module; update custom_nodes.lock when needed.
  3. Declare models in vibecomfy/registry/models.yaml when workflow metadata is not enough.
  4. Preflight and convert:
vibecomfy port check ready_templates/sources/.../<id>.json --json
vibecomfy port convert ready_templates/sources/.../<id>.json \
  --ready-id <media>/<id> \
  --out ready_templates/<media>/<id>.py \
  --json
  1. Validate:
vibecomfy validate ready_templates/<media>/<id>.py
vibecomfy doctor ready_templates/<media>/<id>.py --json
pytest -q tests/test_ready_templates.py tests/test_runpod_matrix.py tests/test_nodes_install.py tests/test_cli_misc.py tests/test_cli_sources_workflows_nodes.py
  1. Run focused GPU validation only when environment and cost are acceptable:
VIBECOMFY_MATRIX_SCOPE=<family> uv run python scripts/runpod_corpus_matrix.py

Rules

  • Keep template additions narrow: source, manifest, node/model declarations, template, focused tests.
  • Do not hand-edit generated templates unless you preserve converter markers and parity expectations.
  • Do not hide known failures in chat or pod logs. Document incompatibilities in docs/runtime/incompatibilities.md, docs/structural_issues.md, or a family coverage doc.
  • If the request is just "make this custom workflow for me", use edit-comfy-workflow and recipes/, not ready_templates/.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
