subreddit-deep-research

subreddit-deep-research is a skill for Claude Code from PHY041/claude-skill-reddit. It costs 131 tokens per session (1,613 once invoked), scanned A, original, no licence file.

A research process for understanding Reddit communities called subreddits, which are discussion groups focused on particular topics. It studies community rules and highly rated posts for a brand, project, and competitors, then records what promotion and link sharing each community allows.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it before promoting a brand or project on Reddit to review relevant communities and create a policy matrix showing what is allowed in each one.
Why use it?
It helps prevent posts that break subreddit rules or look like unwanted advertising. It replaces guesswork with a community-by-community guide to mentioning a brand, sharing links, and disclosing affiliations.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00131 $0.01613
Opus 5 $0.00066 $0.00807
Sonnet 5 $0.00026 $0.00323
Haiku 4.5 $0.00013 $0.00161

Security

Grade A, and why

subreddit-deep-research scanned grade A with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 1 executable file (scripts/fetch_rules_via_server.py), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Not a fault in itself. Listed so you know the mod talks to something, and to what.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
