film-cast-design

film-cast-design is a skill for Claude Code from PicsArt/gen-ai-skills. It costs 84 tokens per session (2,300 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A film asset-design workflow for keeping generated people, props, places, and crowds visually consistent across shots. It creates reference sheets or plates—organized images used to guide later video generation—and can preserve the user's own photos.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to prepare character sheets, prop plates, crowd references, and place descriptions, review individual views, and lock approved assets for later shots.
Why use it?
Generated images do not automatically remember what a character or object looked like in an earlier shot. Approved reference views reduce changes to faces, clothing, props, scale, and other details across a film.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00084 $0.02300
Opus 5.5 $0.00034 $0.00920
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00017 $0.00460
Haiku 4.5 $0.00008 $0.00230

Security

Grade A, and why

film-cast-design scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured today.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Film cast

The model has no memory. What keeps a face the same across forty shots is a locked picture of it, cut into single views, passed to every video that shows that person. Read these before the step:

File Read it before you…
references/views.md cut a view out of a sheet, or check one
references/own-photos.md use a photo the user brought of a person, a product or a place

What each asset gets

Asset Pictures Compiled with
A person you generate one sheet: front face, side face, full-body outfit, and a states row when the story needs one picsart_film_compile_prompt, kind: "sheet"
A person the user photographed the photo itself; a profile and a sheet only for views the photo lacks kind: "profile", then kind: "sheet", from the photo
A prop one plate: the object alone on a neutral ground, and the object beside an everyday thing for scale; no people, no hands kind: "plate"
A place a descriptor now; its pictures come from its scene (film-shot-generation) —
A crowd one plate with the dress code, the age spread and what they carry; each shot states the exact count kind: "plate"

Every person and every prop the story handles gets its pictures; nothing is tiered. A figure in the background, or an object nobody touches, gets no asset: the shot that shows it describes it.

A state (wet, bloodied, coat off) is a panel on the person's sheet with its own tag (@cal_wet), generated from the approved sheet so it stays the same person. A change that lasts most of the film may earn a sheet of its own; that is a craft call. A place at night, or after a fire, is a scene with its own pictures, never a state.

Descriptors

Draft every descriptor in one turn, from the story, the cards and the references; mark what you invented as a design proposal. They are line-keyed (face, hair, jacket, shoes, …), so a change is one line, and they are concrete: no evaluative words.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
