aic-journey-design

aic-journey-design is a skill for Claude Code from pingidentity/agent-plugins. It costs 87 tokens per session (883 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A design guide for PingOne Advanced Identity Cloud authentication journeys, which are step-by-step flows for login, registration, recovery, and multi-factor authentication. It also covers PingAM authentication trees, the platform's equivalent flow model.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to design or build authentication flows for MFA, passkeys, social login, account recovery, progressive profiling, and risk-based step-up. It can also produce implementation plans or update journeys through available tools.
Why use it?
It helps agents choose, connect, and review the right steps without overlooking platform rules or branches such as risk checks and stronger authentication.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00087 $0.00883
Opus 5.5 $0.00035 $0.00353
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00017 $0.00177
Haiku 4.5 $0.00009 $0.00088

Security

Grade A, and why

aic-journey-design scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 28d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

AIC Journey Design

Design and build authentication journeys for PingOne Advanced Identity Cloud (AIC) and PingAM authentication trees. MCP tools handle journey creation and updates where available; this skill supplies node selection, sequencing, wiring, and platform constraints as design artifacts otherwise.

Scope

  • Login, registration, recovery, MFA, step-up, passwordless, social login, and transaction-approval journeys.
  • AIC journeys and PingAM authentication trees (shared node model).
  • Scripted decision nodes, inner journeys, page composition, callback/collector sequencing, risk branches, session state, and assurance changes.
  • Journey design, review, implementation, resilience, and promotion between environments.

MCP execution

Use available MCP execution tools for AIC journey operations (createJourney, updateJourneyNode) when present. Otherwise, produce the journey design, node sequencing, branching logic, and platform constraints as implementation artifacts without setup or tool-installation instructions.

When creating journeys with the createJourney MCP tool, read references/mcp-journey-authoring.md first — the PageNode child-node pattern has a known failure mode.

PingAM note

AIC and PingAM share the same node-and-tree model. Node guidance here is written against AIC; validate node availability and behavior against the PingAM documentation for the target release, and account for differences (realms, redirect validation, session settings).

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

aic-journey-design is a skill published in the GitHub repository pingidentity/agent-plugins (3 stars, last pushed 4d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 87 tokens to every session and 883 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-19.
