Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00039 | $0.02002 |
| Opus 5.5 | $0.00016 | $0.00801 |

Grade A, and why
threads scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 86 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Pioneer Threads
Use Threads for conversation discovery, source reading, and permitted conversation actions. Read, search, create, send, and start are separate operations:
thread_createcreates a thread; it does not run a model.thread_message_sendadds a message; it does not run a model.threads_turn_startstarts a turn at a permitted destination with agent-authored input. It does not create a durable Task or enter the attached-subagent protocol.
Tasks and attached subagents have separate skills, system:pioneer/tasks and system:pioneer/subagents. Do not apply their wait, review, or accept protocol to a thread turn.
Tool Discovery And Authority
A native agent opens hidden tools by requesting the domain, not individual names:
{"domains":["threads"],"reason":"Need to find and read accessible conversations or perform permitted thread actions."}
Call request_tools only when it is available and the needed tools are hidden. Use only the subset actually available to this execution. A loaded skill neither supplies tools nor grants permission.
For CLI runtimes, system:pioneer/threads resolves to the exported pioneer-system-threads skill. Load it through the runtime's skill mechanism or read its exported SKILL.md; resolve references/ relative to that directory. Use the issued callable names in the current turn's fixed MCP catalog and capability instructions. CLI does not require request_tools or read_skill. Other system references do not imply an available CLI export.
Read access is scoped to the initiating user's current permissions, workspace, and admitted execution. Knowing a threadId permits neither reading nor writing by itself. Writes and launches require server-issued opaque options; options enumerate existing permissions and cannot create rights. Every page and every source transition rechecks access.
Working Sequence
- Choose the operation from the user's intent. Use
threads_listfor accessible saved conversations,threads_searchfor indexed content, andthreads_history_readfor the actual history. - For non-trivial payloads or exact fields, read
references/tool-schemas.mdfirst. For concrete sequences, readreferences/workflows.md. - Follow pagination and complete record fragments before interpreting their contents. Keep cursors with their original operation and parameters.
- Open relevant search sources with a history anchor. Follow child references selectively; do not automatically read every descendant.
- Use
threads_tools_result_readwith an exact supplied reference for a large saved tool output or saved complete search page. - For create/send/start, obtain the relevant creation or target option, perform the requested action, and report only the confirmed result.
- After failure, stale state, partial reading, or an uncertain mutation outcome, read
references/troubleshooting.mdbefore retrying.
What ships with it
3 files beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

threads is a skill published in the GitHub repository pioneerdotai/pioneer (22 stars, last pushed today), licensed MIT. It adds 39 tokens to every session and 2,002 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-26.

tmux
Manage long-running shell sessions with tmux — start a detached session, run a long task, reattach later, capture output. Use when a task takes longer than a single tool call (build, test, log tail).
