firebase-firestore

firebase-firestore is a skill for Claude Code from pleaseai/claude-code-plugins. It costs 138 tokens per session (1,070 once invoked), scanned A, a copy of firebase-firestore, MIT.

A guide to Cloud Firestore, Firebase's cloud database for storing and querying application data. It covers data models, indexes, access rules, database editions, and SDK use across web, Python, iOS, Android, and Flutter.

In plain words
What is it for?
Create or inspect Firestore databases, design collections and data models, write queries, configure indexes and security rules, and connect apps with supported SDKs.
Why use it?
It helps you choose the correct Firestore database edition and avoid errors in data structure, queries, indexes, or access controls. It brings setup and day-to-day database tasks into one workflow.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00138 $0.01070
Opus 5.5 $0.00055 $0.00428
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00028 $0.00214
Haiku 4.5 $0.00014 $0.00107

Security

Grade A, and why

firebase-firestore scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 17d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Cloud Firestore Database and Operations

[!IMPORTANT] Security Rules Authoring (firestore.rules) Whenever your task requires creating, authoring, or modifying firestore.rules:

  • If subagent delegation AND the firestore-rules-author subagent are available: delegate authoring firestore.rules to the firestore-rules-author subagent rather than writing firestore.rules directly in the main agent.
  • If subagent delegation is unavailable (e.g., subagents not enabled in the IDE) OR firestore-rules-author is not installed: read and follow the firestore-rules-creation skill to write firestore.rules directly.

Before setting up dependencies, writing data models, or configuring security rules, you MUST always identify the Firestore instance edition.

1. Instance Selection and Edition Detection

Run the following command to list current Firestore databases:

npx -y firebase-tools@latest firestore:databases:list

A. Instance Found

  1. For each database found, inspect its edition and details:

    npx -y firebase-tools@latest firestore:databases:get <database-id>

  2. Ask the user which database instance they wish to target or if they would prefer to create a new instance.

  3. Once the target instance is established:

    • If the edition is STANDARD, follow the guides under references/standard/.
    • If the edition is ENTERPRISE or native mode, follow the guides under references/enterprise/.

B. No Instance Found (or New Requested)

If no databases exist or the user requests a new one, default to provisioning an Enterprise edition database and ask the user what location to use. Run npx -y firebase-tools@latest firestore:locations to get the list of options. Suggest colocating with other resources if applicable.

Once the location is determined, create the database:

npx -y firebase-tools@latest firestore:databases:create <database-id> --edition="enterprise" --location="<selected-location>"

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
