human-auth-location

human-auth-location is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from pockebot/openpocket. It costs 26 tokens per session (455 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A workflow for supplying an app with the user's GPS coordinates when the agent's phone or emulator cannot determine a real location. An emulator is a simulated phone used for testing.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to handle location permission requests, provide coordinates for testing, set an emulator's location, and refresh the app's location-based results.
Why use it?
It removes location failures that can cause an app to show the wrong place or no nearby results. The coordinates can be provided by the user's phone and injected into the emulator.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00026 $0.00455
Opus 5 $0.00013 $0.00228
Sonnet 5 $0.00005 $0.00091
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00046

Security

Grade A, and why

human-auth-location scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Human Auth: Location

Use this when an app needs the user's real GPS location but the Agent Phone has no real GPS.

When to Trigger

  • App requests location permission and shows "location not available" or defaults to wrong location.
  • App needs "nearby" results but the emulator has no GPS fix.
  • Capability Probe detects location / ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION activity.

How to Call

request_human_auth(
  capability: "location",
instruction: "Please share your current GPS location for [purpose].",
  uiTemplate: {
    allowLocationAttachment: true,
    requireArtifactOnApprove: true,
    title: "Location Needed",
summary: "Share your current location coordinates."
  }
)

After You Receive the Artifact

The artifact is a JSON file with lat and lon fields. Read it first: read(<artifact_path>).

On Emulator

  1. Inject GPS coordinates:

    shell("adb emu geo fix <lon> <lat>")

Note: geo fix takes longitude first, then latitude.

  2. Go back to the app and refresh. The app may need:

    • Pull-to-refresh
    • Tap a "Refresh location" or "Use current location" button
    • Force-stop and relaunch: shell("am force-stop <package>") then launch_app(<package>)

On Real Device

Direct GPS injection is not possible on non-rooted real devices. Instead:

  • If the app has a search box or address field, type the coordinates or a nearby address.
  • If the app has a map with a pin, try to manually position it.

Tips

  • Inject coordinates BEFORE the app requests location for best results.
  • Some apps cache location aggressively — force-stop and relaunch if needed.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

human-auth-location is a skill published in the GitHub repository pockebot/openpocket (841 stars, last pushed 1mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 26 tokens to every session and 455 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
