stitch-design

stitch-design is a skill for Codex from PracticalSwan/agent-skills. It costs 30 tokens per session (1,892 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A routing guide for Google Stitch tasks, including screen generation, design systems, prompt writing, and converting designs into code. It directs each request to the more specific Stitch workflow.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it as the starting point when a task involves Stitch, DESIGN.md, Stitch MCP, screen generation, uploads, or Stitch-to-code work.
Why use it?
It prevents different design and implementation tasks from being handled by one overly broad process.

Skill for Codex

Written for Codex: reads ~/.codex or $CODEX_HOME. Also seen: mentions Claude Code; mentions Codex.

Good fit Use it as the starting point when a task involves Stitch, DESIGN.md, Stitch MCP, screen generation, uploads, or Stitch-to-code work.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00030 $0.01892
Opus 5 $0.00015 $0.00946
Sonnet 5 $0.00006 $0.00378
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00189

Security

Grade A, and why

stitch-design scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 1 executable file (scripts/stitch-to-react.ps1), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Stitch Design

Use this as the entrypoint for Google Stitch work. The old local monolithic Stitch guidance has been consolidated into narrower skills imported from https://github.com/google-labs-code/stitch-skills at commit 7b53207b94e62911777d53d4238b5f8c88c2b519. This file now routes tasks and carries shared safety rules; detailed workflows live in the dedicated stitch-* skills.

When to Use This Skill

  • The user asks for Stitch, Google Stitch, Stitch MCP, DESIGN.md, Stitch screen generation, Stitch upload, or Stitch-to-code work.
  • The task is unclear and needs routing to the correct Stitch design, build, or utility workflow.
  • A previous broad Stitch workflow would have mixed upload, prompt, design-system, code, and video steps in one place.

Route Selection

Skill Use when
stitch-code-to-design Convert an existing frontend into Stitch-ready design assets by extracting static HTML, writing DESIGN.md, creating the design system, and uploading approved files.
stitch-generate-design Prepare Stitch screen-generation, edit, image-to-design, and variant prompts with verified tool checks and design-system-aware wording.
stitch-manage-design-system Create, list, and apply Stitch design systems from DESIGN.md using the verified Stitch MCP design-system tools and safe upload fallbacks.
stitch-extract-design-md Extract a Stitch-compatible DESIGN.md from frontend source code, stylesheets, Tailwind config, theme files, and component patterns.
stitch-extract-static-html Capture a self-contained static HTML snapshot from a running app or mock component so it can be reviewed or uploaded to Stitch.
stitch-upload-to-stitch Upload approved local HTML, markdown, or image assets to a Stitch project using direct MCP for small DESIGN.md files or the bundled API script for larger files.
stitch-react-components Convert Stitch HTML and screenshots into modular Vite/React/TypeScript components, or sync existing components to updated Stitch designs, with local architecture and validation checks.
stitch-react-vite-dashboard Convert approved Stitch exports into accessible React and Vite dashboards with DESIGN.md tokens, TanStack Query data boundaries, responsive layouts, and optional read-only Web3 integrations.
stitch-react-native Convert Stitch HTML designs into React Native screens, or sync existing native components to updated Stitch designs, using native primitives, StyleSheet rules, and mobile platform checks.
stitch-remotion Create Remotion walkthrough videos from Stitch screen exports with ordered assets, transitions, captions, and render checks.
stitch-shadcn-ui Integrate Stitch-derived UI direction into shadcn/ui React projects with registry-aware setup, ownership rules, theming, and validation.
stitch-design-md Analyze existing Stitch project evidence and synthesize a semantic DESIGN.md for consistent future Stitch generation.
stitch-enhance-prompt Transform rough UI requests into structured Stitch prompts with platform, layout, component, and design-system context.
stitch-loop Run an iterative Stitch website-building loop using .stitch/next-prompt.md, SITE.md, DESIGN.md, generated pages, and verification checkpoints.
stitch-taste-design Create opinionated premium DESIGN.md guidance for Stitch, emphasizing calibrated typography, restrained color, layout discipline, motion, and anti-generic UI rules.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
