teak: Skill for Claude Code

.agents/skills/teak-release/SKILL.md

teak-release is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from praveenjuge/teak. It costs 0 tokens per session (1,997 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A release workflow for shipping Teak products across several platforms from one version change. It covers the App Store, browser extension, command-line tool, software library, Android, MCP Registry, and Raycast Store steps.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when releasing everything, shipping a new version, or checking release status. It prepares a release pull request, waits for checks, and tracks steps that still require manual action.
Why use it?
It coordinates versioning, release branches, checks, tagging, and platform-specific handoffs in one order. This reduces missed steps when releasing related products together.

Written for no agent in particular: nothing here depends on one. Also seen: installed under .agents/ (shared by several agents).

This is praveenjuge/teak's own configuration. It tells Claude Code and Codex how to work on teak itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything teak configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00000 $0.01997
Opus 5.5 $0.00000 $0.00799
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00000 $0.00399
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00200

Security

Grade A, and why

teak-release scanned grade A with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Makes network callslowCapability

Not a fault in itself. Listed so you know the mod talks to something, and to what.

- **Extension:** the job ending green means both stores accepted the upload. AMO's public API shows the live version: `curl -s https://addons.mozilla.org/api/v5/addons/addon/teak/`.

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 73 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Release Teak

One version change ships everything. Merging it lets Version Tag tag v<version> and run the Apple (iOS), extension, CLI, SDK, Android and MCP Registry workflows. Android to Play and the Raycast Store PR stay hand steps, done here. The runbooks are the source for each product; this skill is the order to run them in and what went wrong last time. Read .agents/runbooks/releases.md first.

Work in a fresh branch from origin/main (git fetch origin). Never merge with --auto: main has no required checks, so it merges at once. Wait for green, then gh pr merge <n> --squash.

1. See what's changing

  • Last version: git describe --tags --abbrev=0 origin/main. Per product: git log --oneline v<last>..origin/main -- apps/<apple|android|extension|raycast|cli> packages/sdk.
  • Raycast: compare apps/raycast with the store's copy (extensions/teak-raycast on raycast/extensions main, fetched with gh api); only that diff is unreleased. The changelog's top entry may already have shipped under {PR_MERGE_DATE}.

2. The release PR

  1. bun run release:prepare <next patch> (lockstep validator included).
  2. App Store: rewrite version.whatsNew in apps/apple/store/store.config.json from the Apple changes.
  3. Raycast: in apps/raycast/CHANGELOG.md, add ## [<title>] - {PR_MERGE_DATE} at the top for what the store doesn't have, and give the previous entry its real merge date, as the store's copy has it.
  4. Prove Raycast outside the monorepo: copy apps/raycast to the scratchpad, then npm ci, npx --no-install tsc --noEmit, bun test src/__tests__ --isolate, npx --no-install ray build -e dist and npx --no-install ray lint (--no-install keeps them to the lockfile's versions).
  5. Commit (the pre-commit hook runs the affected checks), open the PR with the template, merge on green.

3. The tag workflows

gh run list --commit <merge sha> shows Version Tag and the product runs; Version Tag goes green only when each child does.

  • SDK Release: npm can take minutes to serve a new version's attestations. The verify step waits for them; if it still fails, gh run rerun <id> --failed (an already published version passes when its bytes match).
  • Apple: iOS submits and waits for review; asc status --app 6756574989 shows the state. Apple Release Status starts the Mac within 15 minutes of iOS going live.
  • Extension: the job ending green means both stores accepted the upload. AMO's public API shows the live version: curl -s https://addons.mozilla.org/api/v5/addons/addon/teak/.
  • MCP Registry: publishes with MCP_PRIVATE_KEY and confirms the version is listed.
  • Android: attaches teak-android-<version>.aab and its mapping to the GitHub Release after uploading the mapping to PostHog.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

teak-release is a skill published in the GitHub repository praveenjuge/teak (24 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed MIT. It costs nothing until one of its globs matches a file; then it loads 1,997 tokens. A static security scan graded it A with 1 finding (makes network calls). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-11-02.
