froggo-mission-control: Skill for Claude Code

.claude/skills/research-brief/SKILL.md

research-brief is a skill for Claude Code from ProfFroggo/froggo-mission-control. It costs 30 tokens per session (2,540 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

Process for scoping, conducting, and delivering a research brief — from question definition through synthesis, confidence labeling, and final report.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00030 $0.02540
Opus 5.5 $0.00012 $0.01016
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00006 $0.00508
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00254

Measured today against content hash c335ca6d6ce3, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-10-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

research-brief scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured today.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Research Brief

Purpose

Produce research that answers specific questions with traceable evidence and honest confidence levels. Every claim in a research output is labeled with its source and confidence. Undocumented opinions are not research — they are guesses wearing research clothes.

Trigger Conditions

Load this skill when:

  • A specific question needs answering before a decision can be made
  • Gathering competitive intelligence on a market, product, or player
  • Investigating a technical topic, protocol, or on-chain phenomenon
  • Scoping what is known vs. unknown before a strategy doc is written
  • Validating an assumption before building an experiment or PRD on top of it
  • Synthesizing prior research into a structured summary

Procedure

Step 1 — Write the Research Brief (Before Any Research Begins)

Do not begin gathering information until the brief is complete. Unscoped research produces unstructured outputs.

## Research Brief

**Question**: [One precise research question. Not a topic. A question with a specific answer.]
**Decision this informs**: [What action or decision depends on the answer?]
**Requester**: [Agent or human name]
**Deadline**: [When the output is needed]
**Acceptable sources**:
  - [ ] Web search (public information)
  - [ ] Internal data / DB
  - [ ] Agent memory / prior research in library
  - [ ] On-chain data (Birdeye, Solana explorer, etc.)
  - [ ] Third-party APIs
  - [ ] Primary sources only (no secondary synthesis)
**Depth required**: [Quick scan (30 min) / Standard brief (2-4 hrs) / Deep research (full task)]
**Output format**: [Summary paragraph / Structured report / Bullet list for deck / Raw findings + analysis]
**Known context**: [What we already know or believe about this topic — starting assumptions]
**What "done" looks like**: [Specific deliverable that satisfies this brief]

The question must be specific. Examples:

Bad (topic, not question) Good (specific question)
"Research our competitors" "What is the fee structure of the top 5 DeFi lending protocols by TVL on Solana as of this month?"
"Look into user retention" "What retention tactics do consumer crypto apps use between D1 and D30, and which have published efficacy data?"
"Find out about regulations" "What are the current KYC requirements for crypto exchanges operating in Mexico, Brazil, and Colombia?"

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
