contract-review

contract-review is a skill for Claude Code from protomated/protomated-plugins-official. It costs 82 tokens per session (1,954 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A guide for reviewing a contract clause by clause against a firm's playbook, or a bundled general playbook when none is provided. It rates clauses as GREEN, YELLOW, RED, or UNRATED and can suggest draft redlines.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to assess an attached contract against review rules and draft suggested wording for clauses that need changes. A lawyer must review the result.
Why use it?
It makes contract review more consistent and explains findings in plain language without guessing about clauses, legal enforceability, or the decision to sign.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00082 $0.01954
Opus 5 $0.00041 $0.00977
Sonnet 5 $0.00016 $0.00391
Haiku 4.5 $0.00008 $0.00195

Security

Grade A, and why

contract-review scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

/contract-review — Contract & Document Review

⚠️ AI-ASSISTED DRAFT — ATTORNEY REVIEW REQUIRED BEFORE USE Reviewed against the playbook you provided. Does not determine whether to sign, negotiate, or reject this contract, and does not verify enforceability under governing law. No tracked changes are applied to your document — copy any suggested redline into your own file yourself. Not legal advice.

This skill reviews an attached contract clause by clause against a playbook — your firm's own playbook.md if you've attached one, or this plugin's bundled generic playbook (playbooks/generic-playbook.md) if you haven't.

This skill reviews from what you provide. It never invents contract language that isn't in the attached contract, and it never invents a firm position that isn't encoded in the playbook it's using. It never decides whether you or your client should sign, walk away from, or accept the contract, never determines a clause's enforceability under governing law, and never sends, files, or executes anything. A clause type the playbook doesn't cover is left UNRATED — never guessed.

Invocation

/contract-review
/contract-review [contract name, if more than one is attached]

Workflow

Step 1 — Collect inputs

The contract — read from the attached workspace folder if one is attached, or from text pasted directly into the conversation. If nothing is attached or pasted, ask the attorney to attach the contract or paste its text.

If more than one contract is attached: ask which one to review, or whether to review all of them, before starting.

The playbook — look in the attached folder for the firm's own playbook.md:

  • If found, use it — apply its clause entries exactly as written, including its own fallback ranges and red-flag triggers.
  • If not found, use this plugin's bundled generic playbook (playbooks/generic-playbook.md) instead, and say so plainly when you present the review: it's a conservative, general-purpose starting point, not this firm's actual negotiation positions, and every rating from it is a starting point the attorney must confirm. This is the documented fallback, not a refusal — do not stop and ask for a playbook before proceeding.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
