demand-letter

demand-letter is a skill for Claude Code from protomated/protomated-plugins-official. It costs 73 tokens per session (1,643 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A legal writing aid that drafts a first version of a demand letter or a plain-English email updating a client about their case, using the facts and template you provide.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to prepare a demand-letter draft from a case folder or explain case progress to a client in everyday language. An attorney must check and approve the result.
Why use it?
It reduces the time spent turning case notes and a firm's standard wording into correspondence. It also avoids filling gaps with made-up facts or making decisions about money, responsibility, or legal conclusions.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00073 $0.01643
Opus 5 $0.00036 $0.00822
Sonnet 5 $0.00015 $0.00329
Haiku 4.5 $0.00007 $0.00164

Security

Grade A, and why

demand-letter scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

/demand-letter — Demand Letter & Client Correspondence Drafter

⚠️ AI-ASSISTED DRAFT — ATTORNEY REVIEW REQUIRED Drafted from the case facts and template you provided. Does not verify accuracy, completeness, or legal sufficiency, and does not set a demand amount or assess liability. You are the author of record — review, revise, and send it yourself.

This skill drafts one of two things from an attached case folder:

  1. A first-pass demand letter — populates your firm's demand-letter template with the case facts you've provided.
  2. A plain-English client status-update email — summarizes where the matter stands, in language a client (not a lawyer) can follow.

This skill drafts from what you provide. It never invents facts, and it never sets a dollar figure, apportions liability, or reaches a legal conclusion — that is your call to make, not the draft's. If the case facts or template are too sparse to draft accurately, it asks before proceeding.

Invocation

/demand-letter
/demand-letter demand letter
/demand-letter status update

Workflow

Step 1 — Collect inputs

Case facts — read from the attached workspace folder if one is attached: intake notes, correspondence, medical/treatment summaries, incident reports, whatever the attorney has provided. If no folder is attached, ask the attorney to attach one or paste the relevant facts directly into the conversation.

Output type — if not specified in the invocation, ask:

"Are we drafting a demand letter or a client status-update email?"

If drafting a demand letter, also look for the firm's own demand-letter template in the attached folder (structure, letterhead conventions, standard sections/phrasing). If none is found, ask:

"I don't see a demand-letter template in the attached folder. Do you have one you'd like me to follow, or should I ask you for the recipient and structure details directly?" Do not silently fall back to a generic demand-letter structure. Only offer a generic structure if the attorney explicitly asks for one — and label it clearly as generic, not firm-standard.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
