Pseudolife-MCP: Skill for Claude Code

.claude/skills/schema-bump/SKILL.md

schema-bump is a skill for Claude Code from Pseudogiant-xr/Pseudolife-MCP. It costs 65 tokens per session (1,058 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A repository-specific checklist for changing the storage schema and increasing its schema version. It covers the related Python files, Rust code, documentation, tests, version pins, and expected outputs described by the project.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it whenever storage/schema.py changes or the schema version is bumped, including updates to release tests and Rust parity checks.
Why use it?
Schema changes can require updates in several languages and test fixtures, so missing one can break later checks or compatibility. This checklist helps keep those linked changes together.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00065 $0.01058
Opus 5.5 $0.00026 $0.00423
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00013 $0.00212
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00106

Security

Grade A, and why

schema-bump scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Schema change and schema bump checklist

A schema bump touches several files that each have a guard test, and the Rust port pins the schema in more places still. Missing one fails CI in a lane the master ruleset does not require, so it is easy to merge broken. The v30 bump found steps 7 and 8 the hard way; the v56 bump missed every Rust step below and four Parity jobs failed, and its CLI harness goldens failed a second round after the first re-record.

A. Every schema bump (Python side, all in one PR)

  1. The version. SCHEMA_META_VERSION in pseudolife_memory/storage/schema.py.
  2. The docs. The README capabilities table, and in docs/guide/configuration.md the DSN row and the version-history table. tests/test_release_ux.py pins both, the history table including gap detection.
  3. The version pin. The single CURRENT_SCHEMA literal in tests/test_schema_version.py. No per-version test file and no >= relaxation pass: the ladder is gap-checked by test_release_ux.py and test_atlas_currency.py.
  4. The behaviour's test. Whatever the bump adds gets a test beside its consumer, or a row in tests/test_schema_ddl_shape.py if it is pure DDL shape. Never a new test_schema_vNN.py.
  5. The changelog. A vNN mention in the change's changelog.d/ fragment (test_release_ux.py reads CHANGELOG.md plus pending fragments).
  6. The atlas. docs/atlas/atlas.json meta.schema, pinned by tests/test_atlas_currency.py. Re-verify the affected storage cards; don't just renumber.
  7. The embedding-migration pins. The two assert meta[0] == NN literals in tests/test_migrate_embeddings.py.
  8. The generated docs. python ops/gen_llms_txt.py after any doc edit (tests/test_llms_txt.py pins the generated llms-full.txt).

B. Any change to schema.py, bump or not

The Rust plan hashes the whole file, so even a comment change needs this.

  1. Regenerate the Rust daemon's embedded schema plan: python rust/daemon/harness/gen_schema_sql.py, then the same command with --check must pass. The changed schema.sql, schema_plan.json and schema_meta.rs under rust/daemon/src/storage/ ship in the same PR.
  2. When the DDL or migrations change, re-record the schema startup golden rust/daemon/harness/goldens/schema-startup.json: python rust/daemon/harness/schema_ci.py --record-goldens --out <scratch>/schema-record.json. It needs the bench Postgres, a Rust toolchain, and the commits listed in rust/daemon/harness/schema_history.json; --no-build --rust-test-bin <exe> reuses a built test binary. Inspect the golden's diff, then run it again without --record-goldens to check.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

schema-bump is a skill published in the GitHub repository Pseudogiant-xr/Pseudolife-MCP (6 stars, last pushed today), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 65 tokens to every session and 1,058 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-20.
