aeo-init

aeo-init is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from psyduckler/aeo-skills. It costs 148 tokens per session (1,389 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A setup assistant that creates `aeo.config.json`, the configuration file for an AEO workspace. It records a brand, domain, aliases, competitors, tracked prompts, their intent, and spending limits.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to initialize a workspace interactively or from command-line options, validate the proposed configuration, preview it without writing, or replace an existing configuration with an explicit force option.
Why use it?
It gives later AEO checks a consistent starting configuration instead of requiring settings to be entered repeatedly.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00148 $0.01389
Opus 5 $0.00074 $0.00694
Sonnet 5 $0.00030 $0.00278
Haiku 4.5 $0.00015 $0.00139

Security

Grade A, and why

aeo-init scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 2 executable files (scripts/init.py, tests/test_init.py), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

AEO Init

Source: github.com/psyduckler/aeo-skills Part of: AEO Skills Suite Output schema: aeo-config-v1

The workspace bootstrapper. One command, one config file, then aeo-baseline knows what to measure.

Requirements

  • Python 3.9+
  • No API keys (this skill never calls a provider)
  • Optional: pip install jsonschema for full schema validation at write time

Usage

# Interactive — walks through every field
python3 scripts/init.py

# Flag-driven — best for agent use
python3 scripts/init.py \
  --brand Tabiji --domain tabiji.ai \
  --alias tabiji \
  --competitor tripadvisor.com --competitor lonelyplanet.com \
--prompt "best travel planning tools" \
--prompt "AI travel apps for itineraries" \
  --prompt-intent commercial --prompt-intent commercial

# Print the would-be config without writing
python3 scripts/init.py --brand X --domain x.com --prompt "best X" --dry-run

# Overwrite an existing config (safety: refuses unless --force)
python3 scripts/init.py --brand NewName --domain new.com --force

# Custom output path
python3 scripts/init.py --output /path/to/aeo.config.json ...

Interactive mode triggers automatically when neither --brand nor a useful flag combination is provided. Pass --interactive to force it even with flags.

Options

Option Description
--brand Brand/company name to track (required for non-interactive mode)
--domain Brand's primary domain (e.g. example.com)
--alias (repeatable) Alternate spellings/abbreviations
--competitor (repeatable) Competitor domains to track
--prompt (repeatable) Prompts to track for visibility
--prompt-intent (repeatable) Intent for each --prompt, paired by position
--locale BCP-47 locale (default: en-US)
--persona Optional persona prefix used by some downstream skills
--output PATH Where to write the config (default: ./aeo.config.json)
--data-dir PATH Where baselines should write evidence files
--force Overwrite an existing config without prompting
--interactive Force interactive prompts even when flags are set
--dry-run Print the config to stdout instead of writing

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
