axom-reflex

axom-reflex is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from PugzUI/axom. It costs 0 tokens per session (464 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A guide for using Axom’s stored solution memories, called reflexes, and checking whether they work.

In plain words
What is it for?
Searching for a matching reflex, implementing it, running tests, saving the result, and updating the stored guidance after a failure.
Why use it?
It prevents an old solution from being trusted without verification and records what went wrong when it fails.

Written for no agent in particular: nothing here depends on one. Also seen: mentions subagents.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00000 $0.00464
Opus 5 $0.00000 $0.00232
Sonnet 5 $0.00000 $0.00093
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00046

Security

Grade A, and why

axom-reflex scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Axom Reflex Shortcut

When search returns reflex memories: Implement from experience, verify, and update the reflex if verification fails.

Reflex Path (with Verification Feedback Loop)

  1. Search → reflex hit (has_reflex: true in search response)
  2. Implement from reflex (TRIGGER|DIAGNOSIS|SOLUTION)
  3. Verify – run the verification command (e.g. make test, pytest path/to/test.py). Evidence before claims.
  4. If verify passes → store outcome with REFLECTION
  5. If verify fails → edit the reflex OR associate a gotcha memory. Never leave reflex unchanged—next agent would repeat the same mistake. Then escalate to full workflow.

Critical: Update Reflex on Failure

When verification fails:

axom_mcp_memory(
  action="write",
  name="gotcha_[reflex_name]_[YYYYMMDD]",
  content="TRIGGER|WHAT_FAILED|WHY|REFLECTION: ...",
  memory_type="short_term",
  importance="high"
)
axom_mcp_memory(
  action="associate",
  name="[reflex_name]",
  target_memory_name="gotcha_[reflex_name]_[YYYYMMDD]"
)

Then escalate: discover + analyze (medium path) or full creative flow if still stuck.

Medium Escalation Path

When reflex verify fails but the reflex was close:

  1. Discoveraxom_mcp_discover(domain="files") for relevant files
  2. Analyzeaxom_mcp_analyze(type="debug", target="...") for root cause
  3. If root cause found → fix, update reflex, store
  4. Else → full creative flow (dreams, web, subagent)

Verification Command Specificity

Always run a concrete command. Examples:

  • make test
  • pytest path/to/test.py
  • npm test
  • cargo test

Avoid vague "I verified." Evidence before claims.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

axom-reflex is a skill published in the GitHub repository PugzUI/axom (1 stars, last pushed 3mo ago), licensed MIT. It costs nothing until one of its globs matches a file; then it loads 464 tokens. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
