quadratic-spreadsheet

quadratic-spreadsheet is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from quadratichq/quadratic-mcp-plugin. It costs 39 tokens per session (351 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A workflow for reading, creating, editing, importing, and analysing Quadratic spreadsheets. Quadratic is a spreadsheet application that can also contain formulas, code cells, SQL connections, charts, and images.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to find Quadratic files, read selected ranges, work with spreadsheet formulas or code cells, import data, format cells, and verify edits.
Why use it?
It gives an agent a structured way to inspect spreadsheet contents, make safe changes, and check that the changes were applied.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00039 $0.00351
Opus 5 $0.00019 $0.00176
Sonnet 5 $0.00008 $0.00070
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00035

Security

Grade A, and why

quadratic-spreadsheet scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Quadratic Spreadsheet

Use this skill when a task involves Quadratic files, spreadsheet ranges, formulas, Python or JavaScript code cells, SQL connection cells, imports, or spreadsheet formatting.

Workflow

  1. Confirm the Quadratic MCP server is available as quadratic.
  2. If authentication is needed, call auth with action login and guide the user through the device authorization flow.
  3. Use files_read to list or identify the target file, then files_write to open it.
  4. Start with read_data action get_spreadsheet_context or outline to understand sheets, tables, code cells, charts, images, and existing data.
  5. Use targeted read_data calls for specific ranges or tables. Consolidate independent reads with action: "batch" when useful.
  6. For edits, use write_data and place new content outside occupied ranges. Leave a blank row or column between new content and existing data.
  7. After writes, read back the changed range or context needed to verify the result.

Notes

  • Quadratic tables do not support formulas or code cells inside the table.
  • Code cells are not global; variables and imports are scoped to each cell.
  • Use formatting tools for cell formatting rather than trying to format from Python or JavaScript code.
  • For table columns, prefer table references such as TableName[Column].
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
