openproxy: Skill for Claude Code

.agents/skills/openproxy-providers/SKILL.md

openproxy-providers is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from quangdang46/openproxy. It costs 109 tokens per session (6,032 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A guide for managing the AI provider connections used by OpenProxy. A provider can be a hosted service or a compatible server such as vLLM or Ollama.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to add, edit, or delete providers, register custom compatible endpoints, set priority, run connection checks, and import model lists.
Why use it?
It centralizes provider setup and makes it possible to check whether a connection works before using it. It also supports ordering providers and importing their available models.

Skill for Claude CodeCodex

Written for no agent in particular: nothing here depends on one. Also seen: mentions Claude Code; installed under .agents/ (shared by several agents); mentions Codex.

This is quangdang46/openproxy's own configuration. It tells Claude Code and Codex how to work on openproxy itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything openproxy configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00109 $0.06032
Opus 5.5 $0.00044 $0.02413
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00022 $0.01206
Haiku 4.5 $0.00011 $0.00603

Security

Grade A, and why

openproxy-providers scanned grade A with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 29d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Not a fault in itself. Listed so you know the mod talks to something, and to what.

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 416 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

openproxy-providers — connections, nodes, and verification

OpenProxy stores two distinct objects, and almost every provider bug comes from confusing them:

Object What it is Where it lives
Provider connection One credential for one provider alias (openai, anthropic, a node id, …). Holds the API key / OAuth tokens, priority, isActive, testStatus. /api/providers, openproxy provider …
Provider node A registered endpoint for a self-hosted or third-party service (vLLM, LiteLLM, Ollama, an internal gateway). Holds type, baseUrl, optional apiType / prefix. Holds no credential. /api/provider-nodes, openproxy provider node …

A node is useless alone. You register it, then create one or more connections whose provider is the node's generated id.

Prerequisite: the binary is installed and the server is running — see .agents/skills/openproxy/SKILL.md. This skill assumes openproxy is on PATH and an admin key is in $OPENPROXY_API_KEY.

0 · Pick your surface

Both surfaces drive the same SQLite store. Use whichever is available; the CLI works offline against the data dir, the REST surface works against a running server.

# CLI against the local data dir (no server needed)
openproxy --robot provider list

# CLI against a running server (remote management mode)
openproxy --url http://127.0.0.1:4623 --api-key "$OPENPROXY_API_KEY" --robot provider list

# REST — /api/* requires a management/admin key OR a dashboard session cookie.
# A plain proxy key minted with `openproxy key add` is NOT enough for /api/*.
curl -sS http://127.0.0.1:4623/api/providers -H "Authorization: Bearer $OPENPROXY_API_KEY"

Every /api/providers* and /api/provider-nodes* route is gated by require_dashboard_or_management_api_key: a bearer that is a management/admin key passes, otherwise a valid dashboard session cookie passes. No header at all → 401.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

openproxy-providers is a skill published in the GitHub repository quangdang46/openproxy (29 stars, last pushed 5d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 109 tokens to every session and 6,032 once invoked, about $0.0004 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 1 finding (makes network calls). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-29.
