Quick Health Check

sdx inspect --stats

Shows: total chunks, chunk types breakdown, indexed file count, parse failures, embedding model status, last index timestamp, git commit at index time.

Inspect Specific File

sdx inspect --file src/foo.ts

Lists every chunk extracted from that file with: canonical type, name, line range, content hash, git commit.

Inspect Specific Symbol

sdx inspect --symbol UserService

Shows: definition location, callers, imports, and associated edges.

List Parse Failures

sdx inspect --failed

Shows files that failed to parse with Tree-sitter error details.

What to Check

  1. If chunk count is zero, verify the repo was indexed (sdx index first)
  2. If many parse failures, check Tree-sitter grammar compatibility
  3. If model status shows "unavailable," run sdx init to re-download
  4. If git commit doesn't match HEAD, the index is stale — re-index
