Hooks Best Practices

  • Follow Rules of Hooks strictly
  • Exhaustive deps in useEffect/useCallback/useMemo
  • Extract reusable logic into custom hooks
  • Avoid premature memoization (measure first)

Performance

  • Use React.memo for expensive pure components
  • useMemo/useCallback when measured as needed
  • Lazy loading with React.lazy + Suspense
  • Virtualize long lists (react-window)
