A setup guide for letting an agent connect to GitHub using Git or GitHub's command-line tool. It covers passwords replaced by access tokens, SSH keys, stored credentials, and GitHub login.

Use it to set up GitHub access over HTTPS or SSH, configure credential storage, and authenticate the GitHub command-line tool.

It removes the guesswork from choosing and configuring a way for Git and GitHub commands to prove who you are.
