Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00077 | $0.02019 |
| Opus 5.5 | $0.00031 | $0.00808 |

Grade A, and why
research scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 131 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Research in Merv
A Merv project holds a living paper, tasks, experiments, reviews, immutable files (artifacts), code, and the machines and agent sessions that do the work. Every call you make runs as the person whose key connected you, with their role in the project, checked by the server on each call. Each tool's description is its contract; this skill is the order to use them in.
Merv's UI is at https://experiments.rapidreview.io/ui/. When the person needs to see the UI, open that address for them in their browser.
Noun tools take {"action":"x","x":{...}}, with the selected projectId at the
top level. For example, workflow.read takes {"action":"status","status":{}}.
Orient first
- Use the saved Merv remote MCP connection. If it is absent, follow the server's
/connect/agent.mdguide once. If authentication is required, use the client's browser sign-in action. Never ask for credentials or email codes. Callproject.listorproject.read(list), select the intended project and passprojectIdon every call. Ask which project when ambiguous, including in fresh chats; never silently inherit a previous chat's selection. If none are accessible, explain how to create/join one on the website, then list again without reconnecting. Change the explicit projectId to switch projects and read its brief to check your role. For code-linked work, use the bundled git-access skill by default: preserve origin, configure a separate Merv remote, sync the intended user branch initially and after meaningful commits, and verify remote freshness before cloud work. The same saved connection supplies Git access; no Settings key or second sign-in. Report dirty/local-only data as unsynced and distinguish branch sync from reviewed baseline integration. Research work without local code needs no repository. project.read(brief): your first read in a project, and again whenever you lose the thread. Who you are (actor, role), the project, today's date (UTC) and the paper as it is now.workflow.read(status) with noinstanceId: every unfinished record, what it waits on and what comes next. Work whose review rounds are used up is listed under escalated.workflow.read(status) with aninstanceId(a work item's id): its gate, your next action, blockers, references, revision, andlimits(review rounds used and left at each gate). The guidance it returns is how the server says what it expects: follow it.- Read more as needed:
project.read(records) indexes every task and experiment, experiment.read(get) reads current experiment context with full-history references, task.read(get) one task, paper.read(get) the paper, andproject.read(references) resolves ids to labels, states and revisions.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

research is a skill published in the GitHub repository rapidreview-io/Merv (7 stars, last pushed 4d ago), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 77 tokens to every session and 2,019 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-20.
