What is github-automation?

A set of instructions for controlling GitHub repositories and their code workflows through a connected automation service. GitHub is a platform for hosting code, reviewing changes, tracking work, and running automated builds.

Use it to find repositories and code, create or manage issues, review pull requests, work with branches, run CI/CD workflows, and handle deployments.

It removes the need to carry out common repository tasks manually in GitHub. It can help manage issues, pull requests, branches, permissions, and deployments through programmatic actions.

Pitfalls:

GITHUB_LIST_REPOSITORY_ISSUES returns both issues AND pull requests; check pull_request field to distinguish
