remotion

remotion is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from realjaymes/marketingagentskills. It costs 25 tokens per session (3,336 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A guide for creating videos with Remotion, a React-based toolkit for building videos from code. It supports video concepts, briefs, composition changes, and troubleshooting for Remotion projects.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to plan a new video, develop concept options, modify a Remotion composition, or debug Remotion animations and rendering.
Why use it?
It gives the video work a defined process before implementation, including brand details, concept selection, and approval points. It also helps address technical issues in animations and rendering.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00025 $0.03336
Opus 5 $0.00013 $0.01668
Sonnet 5 $0.00005 $0.00667
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00334

Security

Grade A, and why

remotion scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

When to Use

Use this skill when:

  • Creating a new Remotion video from scratch
  • Generating video brief variants for a content asset
  • Modifying an existing Remotion composition
  • Debugging Remotion animation or rendering issues
  • Working with any Remotion-specific APIs or components

Video Creation Process

When creating a new Remotion video, follow this 8-step process. Step 2 selects 3-5 concepts from the catalog based on the brief and cold audience optimization. Steps 4 and 5 are approval gates. Do not write code until both are approved.

For the full process document with templates and decision matrices, read references/video-creation-process.md.

Step 0: Brand Identification

Before any creative work, identify the brand. Ask the user: "What brand is this video for?"

If the brand has a preset below, use it directly. No further brand questions needed.

If the brand is not listed, ask the user to provide a brand website URL or brand guidelines. Extract: background color, primary accent, secondary accent, text colors, font family, and theme (light/dark). If no guidelines exist, ask for at minimum: primary color, background color, and font preference.

Step 1: Creative Brief

Gather and lock before any creative work:

Purpose: [Why this video exists]
Audience: [Who is watching]
Core message: [One sentence]
Content type: [blog-post, case-study, webinar, podcast, lead-magnet, product-update, tool-launch, industry-report, event-recap, client-testimonial, playbook, template, ai-demo, custom-gpt]
Channels: [Where it will be distributed]
CTA: [What the viewer should do next]
Source assets: [Files, components, or URLs to reference]
Tone: [Descriptive words for the feel]
Brand: [Brand name from Step 0]

Step 2: Concept Selection (3-5 Recommended Concepts)

After locking the creative brief, analyze it to select the best video concepts for this specific use case. Do not present a fixed set of variants. Draw from the concept catalog in references/concept-catalog.md.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

remotion is a skill published in the GitHub repository realjaymes/marketingagentskills (56 stars, last pushed 11d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 25 tokens to every session and 3,336 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
