Generate Radix Theme

Context

You are generating a Radix UI (Themes) config from $ARGUMENTS. Radix uses named 12-step scales (blue-1 through blue-12) with perceptually-uniform lightness.

Domain Context

  • Radix's 12 steps: 1–2 app backgrounds, 3–5 component backgrounds, 6–8 borders, 9–10 solid colors, 11–12 accessible text.
  • The public <Theme> props: accentColor, grayColor, panelBackground, radius, scaling, appearance.
  • For custom brand hues outside Radix's preset accents, generate a custom scale using the Radix Colors API or the generate-scales utility.

Instructions

  1. Read source DESIGN.md / tokens.json and extract primary brand color + gray choice.
  2. Run: 
    python scripts/generate_tokens.py <source> --out theme-config.css --format radix
  3. If the brand's primary matches a Radix preset (blue / cyan / green / crimson / violet / indigo / orange / amber / etc.), use the preset and pick the closest.
  4. Otherwise, the script emits a custom 12-step scale (--brand-1 through --brand-12) in :root and the dark variant — using Radix's lightness curve.
  5. Emit the <Theme> props to use in the app root:
