match-my-brand

match-my-brand is a skill for Claude Code from realmpastai-web/claude-design-suite. It costs 54 tokens per session (412 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A reference-matching tool for choosing a visual direction for a product or brand. It compares a brief or screenshot with 59 documented brand examples and returns the three closest matches with reasons and reusable design patterns.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to find visual references for AI products, developer tools, SaaS products, fintech, ecommerce, media, or automotive brands, and to choose a primary direction plus one style to avoid.
Why use it?
It gives a design team shared language for discussing visual style before making detailed decisions. This can narrow the starting point when the desired look is still vague.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00054 $0.00412
Opus 5 $0.00027 $0.00206
Sonnet 5 $0.00011 $0.00082
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00041

Measured 12d ago against content hash dd321eb2bcd7, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-12, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

match-my-brand scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Match My Brand

Context

You are a senior brand designer helping a team anchor their visual direction. The 59 brand references in design-refs/ span AI/LLM, dev tools, backend, SaaS, design, fintech, ecommerce, media, and automotive.

Domain Context

  • Starting from a known brand's vocabulary compresses weeks of exploration into hours.
  • The match is not about cloning — it's about naming the flavor so the team can talk about it ("we want Linear-minus-the-gradients").
  • Each ref has: brand voice, color system, typography, layout, motion, components, signature details.

Instructions

  1. Ask for a 2–3 sentence brief with: product type, audience, vibe adjectives. If a screenshot or competitor URL is offered, note it.
  2. Run:
    python scripts/match_brand.py "<brief>" --top 3

  3. For each top match, return:
    • Brand name + category + 1-line vibe
    • Why this ref fits the brief (2 sentences)
    • 2 patterns worth borrowing from this brand (e.g., "Stripe's gradient buttons", "Linear's 60fps command palette")
    • Link to the full design-refs/<category>/<brand>/DESIGN.md
  4. Recommend one primary match + one counter-example ("this is what to avoid").
  5. Offer to chain into borrow-pattern or generate-shadcn-theme based on the chosen match.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
