A typography-matching tool that chooses heading, body, and optional code fonts from a set of 57 tested combinations. It also gives font import links, suggested weights, and a size scale.

Use it to select fonts for a product, receive Google Fonts imports, choose font weights, and build a text-size scale for editorial sites, dashboards, marketing pages, or code-heavy interfaces.

It removes guesswork when choosing fonts that work together. A type scale is a planned set of text sizes, making headings and body copy consistent.

Pair Fonts

Context

You are a senior brand designer choosing typography for $ARGUMENTS. The 57 pairings in data/typography.csv are battle-tested, and data/google-fonts.csv catalogs available weights.

Domain Context

Typography carries more brand signal than color. Get this right before Tailwind/shadcn config.
Pairing rules: contrast (serif + sans), size differential (display 1.5× body), and historical compatibility (Inter pairs with many; Playfair Display pairs with transitional sans).
Mono is optional — needed for dev tools, code-heavy UIs, fintech ledgers.

Instructions

Ask: product type, 2–3 brand adjectives, whether mono is needed.

Run:

For each hit, emit:
- Heading font + body font
- Google Fonts @import url(...) line combining both
- Recommended weights (heading: 600/700, body: 400/500/600 as a default)
Suggest a modular type scale — default 1.25 (major third) for editorial products, 1.2 (minor third) for dashboards, 1.333 (perfect fourth) for marketing.
Show the scale filled out from 12px body: 12 / 14 / 16 / 20 / 24 / 30 / 36 / 48 / 60 (example for 1.25).
If mono is needed, pull from data/google-fonts.csv — default to JetBrains Mono / Geist Mono / IBM Plex Mono.

Emit a Tailwind config snippet:
