Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00022 | $0.00904 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00011 | $0.00452 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00004 | $0.00181 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00002 | $0.00090 |
Grade A, and why
researching-a-company scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 112 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Researching a Company
What this does
Produces a one-page company brief covering what they do, who runs it, how they're funded, what they shipped recently, and what's about to be at risk for them.
When to use
- Before a sales call, interview, partnership conversation, or investment discussion
- When you need to walk into a meeting able to talk substance
- When you're vetting a potential employer
What you bring (Inputs)
- Company name (and website if you have it)
- Why you're researching (sales / interview / partnership / investment / general curiosity)
- Time budget (default 20 minutes)
What you get (Output)
A one-page brief: Company-at-a-glance / Recent moves / People / Money / Likely concerns / 3 questions you could ask them.
How it works (Steps)
This is a workflow.
Stages
Stage 1: Snapshot
From the company website + about page: what they do in one sentence, who their customers are, headcount range, HQ.
Stage 2: Recent moves
Last 6 months: product launches, leadership changes, fundraises, layoffs. Sources: blog, press releases, LinkedIn, news search.
Stage 3: People
Founders + 1-2 senior people likely to come up in your context. Background, prior companies, public talks. Source the facts (link per claim).
Stage 4: Money
For a private company: stage, latest round, lead investors, last valuation. For a public company: market cap, last earnings highlights, key metrics.
Stage 5: Likely concerns
What's a known headwind, customer complaint, or competitor pressure? Sources: G2 reviews, Glassdoor, Reddit, customer subreddits, recent press.
Stage 6: Three questions
Generate 3 questions you could ask them in your meeting. Open-ended, specific, non-obvious.
Checkpoints
- After Stage 1: snapshot fits in 3 sentences
- After Stage 2: every "recent move" has a source link
- After Stage 3: every person fact has a source link
- After Stage 4: numbers have a source and date (stale = useless)
- After Stage 5: at least 1 specific concern with a source
- After Stage 6: 3 questions, none answerable by reading the website
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

researching-a-company is a skill published in the GitHub repository redhuntlabs/wizard (9 stars, last pushed 4mo ago), licensed MIT. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
