Getting it into your agent
It runs from inside its repository, so the clone comes first — what it calls does not travel with the file alone.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00040 | $0.01880 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00020 | $0.00940 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00008 | $0.00376 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00004 | $0.00188 |
Grade A, and why
company-research scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 101 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Overview
Evaluate whether a company and role are worth the user's time. The research covers the job posting, company direction, work model, reviews, team signals, and red flags that would affect whether to apply or what to ask in interviews.
Remote/hybrid fit is an important section, not the whole workflow. Use it when relevant, especially for roles advertised as remote, hybrid, distributed, flexible, or location-independent.
Workflow
State layer: reads
applications.mdfor dedup, writes a numbered research report, and upserts the tracker withstatus: savedon a positive verdict. See state-layer contract.
0. Dedup check
Read my-documents/applications.md (first-run scaffold if missing - see state-layer §2). If a row already exists for this company, also scan my-documents/reports/ for the most recent {company-slug}-research-*.md or {company-slug}-vetting-*.md file. Warn the user:
You researched {Company} on {date} - report {###}. Re-run, or open that?
If they choose "open that," read the report and stop. If they choose "re-run," continue.
1. Inputs
At least one of:
- Company name - If multiple companies have similar names, ask for industry, location, domain, or posting details to disambiguate.
- Job posting URL or pasted posting - Use it to identify the role, company, requirements, work model, and possible concerns.
- LinkedIn URL - Use it to inspect company identity, employee distribution, and team signals.
- Company domain - Use it to find the careers page if no posting is provided.
2. Research
Use web browsing when available: job posting, careers page, about page, product pages, leadership page, LinkedIn company profile, employee distribution, recent news, funding, layoffs, return-to-office changes, and review themes from Glassdoor/Blind or similar sources. If web browsing is unavailable, ask the user for pasted source material and caveat that findings should be verified with current sources.
What ships with it
1 file beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

company-research is a skill published in the GitHub repository Remotivated/job-hunt-skills (9 stars, last pushed 20d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 40 tokens to every session and 1,880 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
