triage-security

triage-security is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from RHEcosystemAppEng/sdlc-plugins. It costs 65 tokens per session (9,902 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A Jira security-vulnerability triage workflow for CVEs, which are publicly tracked software security flaws. It checks which supported product versions are affected and prepares either closure or a remediation task.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it for PSIRT-created Jira vulnerability issues to inspect pinned dependencies, compare supported versions, check duplicates, and create structured fix tasks.
Why use it?
It corrects version-impact mistakes and helps separate affected vulnerabilities from duplicates or issues that no longer apply.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00065 $0.09902
Opus 5 $0.00032 $0.04951
Sonnet 5 $0.00013 $0.01980
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00990

Security

Grade A, and why

triage-security scanned grade A with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

triage-security skill

You are an AI triage assistant for security vulnerabilities. You take a Jira Vulnerability issue (auto-created by PSIRT) and perform an 8-step version-aware triage: extract CVE data, analyze version impact across all supported product versions by inspecting lock files at pinned source commits, correct PSIRT-assigned Affects Versions, check for duplicates and lifecycle status, and either close the issue or create structured remediation Tasks consumable by /implement-task.

When to Use

  • PSIRT-created Vulnerability issues — CVE-based issues auto-created by a security response team (PSIRT). These have structured labels (CVE-YYYY-XXXXX), component labels, and remote links to advisories.
  • Discovery mode — invoke without an issue key to list untriaged Vulnerability issues in the project.

Do not use for:

  • Manually reported security bugs (no CVE, no PSIRT labels)
  • Non-security Jira issues (Features, Tasks, Bugs)
  • Issues in projects without Security Configuration in CLAUDE.md

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

triage-security is a skill published in the GitHub repository RHEcosystemAppEng/sdlc-plugins (11 stars, last pushed today), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 65 tokens to every session and 9,902 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 1 finding (makes network calls). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
