Codex-Workspace: Skill for Claude Code

.agents/skills/agent-tooling-doctor/SKILL.md

agent-tooling-doctor is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from RichardGeorgeDavis/Codex-Workspace. It costs 24 tokens per session (311 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A workspace checker for coding-agent setup files and rules across Codex, OpenCode, OMX, and the repository. It checks which configuration layers are present and helps keep tracked project guidance as the baseline.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to inspect agent readiness, check expected setup files, initialize agent directories, synchronize skills, and review reference snapshots.
Why use it?
It helps find missing, conflicting, or accidentally local-only agent configuration before it causes inconsistent work in the repository.

Skill for Claude CodeCodex

Written for no agent in particular: nothing here depends on one. Also seen: installed under .agents/ (shared by several agents); mentions AGENTS.md; mentions Codex.

This is RichardGeorgeDavis/Codex-Workspace's own configuration. It tells Claude Code and Codex how to work on Codex-Workspace itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything Codex-Workspace configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00024 $0.00311
Opus 5 $0.00012 $0.00156
Sonnet 5 $0.00005 $0.00062
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00031

Measured 11d ago against content hash 9305127e2c33, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-11, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

agent-tooling-doctor scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Agent Tooling Doctor

Use this skill when the task is about Codex/OpenCode/OMX readiness, repo-local agent config, or conflicting setup layers.

Default checks

  1. Run tools/scripts/doctor-agent-tooling.sh.
  2. Check for repo AGENTS.md, .codex/skills/, optional .agents/skills/, .workspace/agent-stack.json, .opencode/, and .omx/.
  3. Prefer tracked repo guidance over hidden or user-only overrides when both exist.
  4. If a reviewed upstream snapshot in tools/ref/ suggests a useful improvement, extract it into the workspace baseline instead of depending on the snapshot itself.

Workspace-native tools

tools/scripts/doctor-agent-tooling.sh
tools/scripts/init-agents-tree.sh --help
tools/scripts/sync-codex-skills.sh --all
tools/scripts/sync-reference-snapshots.sh --list

Expected tracked layout

  • repo rules: AGENTS.md
  • Codex skills: .codex/skills/
  • compatibility mirror: .agents/skills/
  • tool-neutral agent hints: .workspace/agent-stack.json
  • OpenCode project config: .opencode/

Avoid

  • vendoring full upstream harnesses into the workspace baseline
  • letting local-only runtime state become the canonical project contract
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
