cli-agent

cli-agent is a skill for Claude Code from richfrem/agent-plugins-skills. It costs 42 tokens per session (1,477 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A task router for sending limited coding jobs, reviews, and audits to external command-line AI agents or locally run models.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to delegate coding work, security audits, reviews, and other bounded tasks to Claude, Codex, Copilot, Agy, or a local model.
Why use it?
It removes the need to manage different agent commands and model choices separately. It also keeps each task isolated, records its results, and stops on failure instead of silently switching tools.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00042 $0.01477
Opus 5.5 $0.00017 $0.00591
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00008 $0.00295
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00148

Security

Grade A, and why

cli-agent scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 21 executable files (scripts/adapters/__init__.py, scripts/adapters/claude_adapter.py, scripts/adapters/copilot_adapter.py, …), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

CLI Agent (cli-agent)

Unified multi-LLM task router and execution engine for external CLI agents and local models.

Contents

Constraints

  • Authorization & Isolation: Analysis uses --isolated to suppress hazardous flags; non-isolated execution requires explicit user authorization. With --isolated, run_agent.py wraps input in ---SOURCE--- … ---END SOURCE--- and appends the isolation instruction. Without --isolated (including --cli llama), add that instruction to the prompt yourself:

"You are operating as an isolated sub-agent. Do NOT use tools. Do NOT access filesystem. Only use the provided input."

  • Fail-Closed & Single Backend: Use one backend per task; halt immediately on failure without silent fallback. See fallback-tree.md and execution-contract.md.
  • Reproducibility & Scope: Reuse the caller's runtime/model/effort choice; do not start an unrequested review. Record executable versions, tokens, and outputs.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

cli-agent is a skill published in the GitHub repository richfrem/agent-plugins-skills (7 stars, last pushed 2d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 42 tokens to every session and 1,477 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-24.
