github-issue-pr-lifecycle-agent

github-issue-pr-lifecycle-agent is a skill for Claude Code from richfrem/agent-plugins-skills. It costs 85 tokens per session (696 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A workflow for taking a GitHub issue through implementation to a pull request and closure. GitHub issues track work, while pull requests are proposed code changes reviewed before they are merged.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to run or preview the complete issue-to-pull-request process, including creating a worktree and closing the issue after the pull request is created.
Why use it?
It avoids manually coordinating issue status, an isolated work area, implementation, pull-request creation, and issue closure.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00085 $0.00696
Opus 5.5 $0.00034 $0.00278
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00017 $0.00139
Haiku 4.5 $0.00009 $0.00070

Security

Grade A, and why

github-issue-pr-lifecycle-agent scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 17d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 3 executable files (scripts/issue_pr_orchestrate.py, scripts/issue_worktree_manage.py, tests/test_issue_pr_orchestrate.py), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

GitHub Issue PR Lifecycle Agent (github-issue-pr-lifecycle-agent)

Orchestrates the end-to-end issue resolution lifecycle: Issue -> Worktree -> Implementation -> PR Creation -> Resolution Closure.

Contents

Critical Constraints

  • Scope Boundary: USE ONLY for end-to-end lifecycle orchestration. For standalone worktree isolation, use github-issue-worktree-agent. For issue logging, use github-issue-agent.
  • Dry-Run by Default: Generates pipeline payload in preview mode; requires --execute for live branch/PR mutations.
  • Worktree Isolation: Implementation must occur strictly in .worktrees/issue-NNN to keep the primary workspace clean.
  • Verification Gate: Automated tests must pass prior to opening pull requests.

Quick start

# Preview full lifecycle orchestration (dry-run)
python3 plugins/dev-utils/skills/github-issue-pr-lifecycle-agent/scripts/issue_pr_orchestrate.py \
--issue 42 --title "Fix login bug" --body "Resolves crash on empty password"

# Execute live end-to-end lifecycle
python3 plugins/dev-utils/skills/github-issue-pr-lifecycle-agent/scripts/issue_pr_orchestrate.py \
--issue 42 --title "Fix login bug" --body "Resolves crash on empty password" \
  --execute

Workflow

  1. Phase 1: Worktree Provisioning: Create isolated git worktree at .worktrees/issue-NNN branching from trunk.
  2. Phase 2: Implementation & Tests: Apply patch within the isolated worktree and execute the local test suite.
  3. Phase 3: Pull Request Creation: Push branch to remote and open GitHub PR referencing the issue (Resolves #NNN).
  4. Phase 4: Resolution & Cleanup: Confirm merge, close issue with appropriate labels, and tear down the worktree.

Verification

# Audit skill compliance
python3 plugins/agent-scaffolders/scripts/audit_skill.py plugins/dev-utils/skills/github-issue-pr-lifecycle-agent --mode source

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

github-issue-pr-lifecycle-agent is a skill published in the GitHub repository richfrem/agent-plugins-skills (7 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed MIT. It adds 85 tokens to every session and 696 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings.
