os-lab-backport

os-lab-backport is a skill for Claude Code from richfrem/agent-plugins-skills. It costs 139 tokens per session (680 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A review workflow for comparing experimental repository changes with the main plugin sources and deciding which changes to apply. It labels each file as accepted, adapted, rejected, or needing review.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to inspect a lab run, assess its file changes and evaluation results, apply selected differences to the main plugin, and record lessons learned.
Why use it?
It prevents experimental edits from being copied blindly or weakening existing safety rules. It also keeps the approved changes in the canonical source files.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00139 $0.00680
Opus 5.5 $0.00056 $0.00272
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00028 $0.00136
Haiku 4.5 $0.00014 $0.00068

Security

Grade A, and why

os-lab-backport scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Lab Backport Reviewer (os-lab-backport)

Reviews changes from an experimental lab repo and backports approved modifications to master plugin sources in agent-plugins-skills.

Contents

Critical Constraints

  1. No Blind Copies: Understand the rationale and eval score delta behind each lab change before applying.
  2. Hub-First Updates: Edit only canonical sources in the master plugin (plugins/<plugin>/ in the master repo); spokes are managed symlinks.
  3. Preserve Valid Constraints: Never backport changes that remove or weaken safety guards.

Quick start

Inspect the git diff of the lab repository against its baseline:

git -C <lab-repo-path> diff <baseline-commit> HEAD

Workflow

  1. Intake & Scope: Determine lab repo path, master plugin path, and baseline commit SHA.
  2. Progress Audit: Read <lab-repo>/LOG_PROGRESS.md and check evaluation logs.
  3. Assess Diff: Classify changed files as ACCEPT, ADAPT, REJECT, or REVIEW.
  4. Apply Approved Changes: Apply targeted diffs to the master plugin sources.
  5. Log & Debrief: Persist the run with os-lab-log, then record operational learnings via os-lab-memory.

Verification

Run test suites and audits against modified master plugin sources:

git diff plugins/<plugin>/

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
