skill-bootstrap

skill-bootstrap is a skill for Claude Code from rjmurillo/ai-agents. It costs 93 tokens per session (2,874 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A workflow for building a small library of project-specific agent skills from evidence in a repository, tracker, previous sessions, and stored context. It reuses existing skills and routes new or improved ones through the appropriate process.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to bootstrap a repository's workflow skills, capture recurring ways to reach accepted fixes or releases, and refresh the existing skill library.
Why use it?
Project knowledge is often repeated informally and then lost, while unnecessary skills add clutter. This identifies workflows that affect the next useful action and reports what was not measured.

Skill for Claude Code

Written for Claude Code: user-invocable in frontmatter. Also seen: reads .claude/ paths; mentions CLAUDE.md; mentions AGENTS.md.

Runs only inside its plugin — its command needs a path that Claude Code sets for a plugin’s own hooks and for nothing else. Install the plugin, not this.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00093 $0.02874
Opus 5.5 $0.00037 $0.01150
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00019 $0.00575
Haiku 4.5 $0.00009 $0.00287

Measured 3d ago against content hash 142d25ae552d, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-10-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

skill-bootstrap scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 3d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 1 executable file (scripts/bootstrap_boundary.py), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Skill Bootstrap

Build the few project workflows that change the next useful action. Reuse before you author. Evidence before you write. Report what you did not measure.

A workflow skill is a short, project-specific route to an accepted outcome: an accepted fix, a correctly unblocked PR, a verified release candidate. This skill finds where agents lose time or get corrected in one repository, then has skillforge write the shortcuts. It creates no friction ledger, registry, or per-fact database. Installing this skill does nothing; only an explicit request starts a run.

When Not To Use

Save a workflow you just finished as a skill skillify
Improve a skill against a scored eval set skillopt
Decide placement or compress a skill without an eval context-optimizer
Scaffold README or architecture templates codebase-documenter
Refresh an existing workflow library This skill, with each changed skill passed as --update

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
