dryui-build

dryui-build is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from rob-balfre/dryui. It costs 55 tokens per session (918 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

An experimental page-building workflow for turning a design image into a DryUI page with a fixed markup structure, page container queries, and separate layout and visual CSS files.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to build responsive pages by placing markup in the route file, layout rules in layout.css, visual styling in app.css, and then checking the final build.
Why use it?
It prevents layout rules from being mixed with colors and typography, making the implementation easier to audit and repair across screen sizes.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00055 $0.00918
Opus 5 $0.00028 $0.00459
Sonnet 5 $0.00011 $0.00184
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00092

Security

Grade A, and why

dryui-build scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

DryUI Page Layout: Shell Audit

Build the supplied design image as a finished DryUI app page. Work mobile-first, then tablet, then desktop.

File Contract

  • src/routes/+page.svelte: markup, data hooks, imports, data arrays, and DryUI components only. Do not add a <style> block.
  • src/layout.css: every display: grid, display: flex, container, @container, grid area, gap, alignment, and block-size rule.
  • src/app.css: visual-only styling: color, background, border, radius, shadow, typography, and custom properties.
  • Do not edit other files unless build fails for a missing import.

Stage 1: Extract The Shell

Identify the screen type, primary task, required regions, and whether the reference has gutters between regions.

Use this direct-child shell shape:

<main data-layout="<screen>-shell">
	<div data-layout-area="page">
		<header data-layout-area="topbar">...</header>
		<nav data-layout-area="navigation">...</nav>
		<section data-layout-area="primary">...</section>
		<aside data-layout-area="secondary">...</aside>
	</div>
</main>
  • Required areas: page, primary, and topbar or navigation.
  • Optional direct children: rail, summary, secondary, utility, actions.
  • data-layout-area appears only on the page grid and its direct children.
  • Nested elements use data-layout="<specific-purpose>", never generic names like wrapper, inner, box, container, or layout.

Stage 2: Implement The Page

  • Use real DryUI components for controls: Button, Input, Badge, Separator, Table, and Tabs.
  • Import from @dryui/ui; do not pass class= or class: to DryUI components.
  • Use static visual blocks for charts, previews, kanban columns, timelines, and maps.
  • Keep the first viewport dense and useful. Mobile should summarize; desktop should fill the canvas.
  • Match the reference gutter logic: if regions touch in the image, set the relevant layout gap to 0; if they are separated, use DryUI spacing tokens.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
