dryui-build-experiment-a

dryui-build-experiment-a is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from rob-balfre/dryui. It costs 36 tokens per session (704 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

An experimental workflow for building interfaces from design images by choosing a task-specific branch, such as a full page, form, dashboard, or repeated component.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to build pages, sections, forms, workflows, dashboards, data surfaces, or visual polish passes with named layout wrappers, mobile-first styling, and container-based responsive changes.
Why use it?
It helps match the implementation approach to what is being built instead of applying the same layout rules to every target. It also sets rules for responsive structure and where layout CSS belongs.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00036 $0.00704
Opus 5 $0.00018 $0.00352
Sonnet 5 $0.00007 $0.00141
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00070

Security

Grade A, and why

dryui-build-experiment-a scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

DryUI Build Experiment A: Branching Task List

Start Here

Before writing code, identify the target:

  • Full page
  • Section of a page
  • Repeated component or list item
  • Form or workflow
  • Dashboard or data surface
  • Polish pass

If more than one applies, follow the most specific branch first. For a dashboard page, follow Dashboard or data surface, then Full page.

Full Page

  1. Create one root wrapper with a specific data-layout="<page-name>".
  2. In src/layout.css, create the matching selector.
  3. Add container: <page-name> / inline-size to the page wrapper.
  4. Put all page-level display: grid and display: flex in src/layout.css.
  5. Use mobile-first base layout.
  6. Use @container <page-name> (...) for responsive shifts.
  7. Do not use @media for layout breakpoints.
  8. Do not put color, background, border, shadow, text, position, z-index, width, height, or inline-size in src/layout.css.
  9. Use data-layout-area for children that participate in named grid areas.
  10. Verify mobile and desktop screenshots.

Dashboard Or Data Surface

  1. Name the primary user task: monitor, compare, triage, configure, report, or act.
  2. Choose density: compact, standard, or spacious.
  3. Define regions before markup:
    • header
    • filters/actions
    • summary metrics
    • primary visualization
    • data table or detail list
    • secondary detail/action area if needed
  4. Use named grid areas when regions need stable placement.
  5. Prefer data hierarchy over decorative cards.
  6. Use cards only for distinct interactive or comparable units.
  7. Use Table or DataGrid for tabular data.
  8. Use Chart or Sparkline for chart content.
  9. Include loading, empty, error, disabled, and dense-data states.
  10. Test long labels, many rows, narrow containers, and primary action visibility after collapse.

Section Of A Page

  1. Add a specific data-layout="<section-name>".
  2. Scope section layout in src/layout.css.
  3. Use the parent page container unless the section needs independent responsive behavior.
  4. Do not create a second container query by default.
  5. Ensure the section works when surrounding content changes.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
