openusage: Skill for Claude Code

.agents/skills/sol-loop/SKILL.md

sol-loop is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from robinebers/openusage. It costs 47 tokens per session (1,292 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A review workflow that asks GPT 6.1 Sol to inspect a code change in repeated rounds. Each round addresses the review's findings while keeping the change limited to the requested scope.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to review a working-tree change or pull request, track findings by severity, and make small fixes between review rounds.
Why use it?
It provides a structured second review before shipping and avoids mixing unrelated edits into the change. It also stops when the review finds only minor issues or the review budget is used.

Written for no agent in particular: nothing here depends on one. Also seen: mentions subagents; mentions Claude Code; runs codex exec.

This is robinebers/openusage's own configuration. It tells Claude Code and Codex how to work on openusage itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything openusage configures →

About the project

robinebers/openusage is a native macOS menu-bar application that tracks usage of AI coding subscriptions, including limits, credits, and spending. Developers use it to monitor plans from services such as Claude, Codex, Cursor, and Copilot, while the catalogue entries support related workflows.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00047 $0.01292
Opus 5.5 $0.00019 $0.00517
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00009 $0.00258
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00129

Security

Grade A, and why

sol-loop scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

sol-loop

GPT 6.1 Sol reviews your change in rounds. Make the smallest changes that answer it, avoid scope creep, and push back when it is wrong.

Budget

  • 3 rounds. Round 1 is full; later rounds check only changed code and open findings.
  • 5 only if the user asks, or for security, permissions, auth, data loss, or state/concurrency while a blocker or should stays open with evidence.
  • Stop early if a round returns only nits. Declined nits and comment, doc, or format-only fixes need no new round.
  • One reviewer only. Sol must not start subagents or reviewers.
  • Keep a ledger: id, severity, outcome, usage if returned. Never guess usage.

1. Scope

Run git status --short. Never stash, discard, or include unrelated changes; if they don't separate cleanly by path, stop and ask.

After git fetch origin, base is git merge-base HEAD origin/<PR base or default branch>. For a PR, HEAD must be the PR head or ahead only by this change. No remote: a base the user names, or HEAD for uncommitted changes only. The change is base to working tree, untracked files included; use the same diff every round.

State intent and out-of-scope in 1-2 sentences. Run the covering checks (swift build, script/test_quiet.sh --filter <Suite>); never send code the change breaks. Note missing or already-failing checks in the brief.

2. Start Sol

The reviewer is GPT 6.1 Sol, unless the user names another Sol version. Reach it the way your harness allows:

  • Capy: a subagent or thread on model openai/gpt-6.1-sol; keep its path or code for later rounds.
  • Cursor: a background agent or new chat with GPT 6.1 Sol selected.
  • Claude Code and other harnesses without GPT models: Codex CLI, codex exec -m gpt-6.1-sol - with the brief on stdin (read-only sandbox by default). Note the session id it prints; codex exec resume <SESSION_ID> continues it.
  • Anything else: give the user the brief to run in a Sol session and wait for the reply.

If no route reaches Sol, stop and tell the user. Never substitute another model, and never count a self-review as a round. Record provider, model, and effort only if your harness shows them.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

sol-loop is a skill published in the GitHub repository robinebers/openusage (4,556 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed MIT. It adds 47 tokens to every session and 1,292 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-29.
