clean-web-import is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from robotaitai/project-bedrock. It costs 32 tokens per session (922 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A tool and process for importing a web page or HTML file into a project's evidence folder after removing navigation, advertisements, scripts and other clutter. The result is readable Markdown marked as background evidence rather than canonical project truth.

In plain words
What is it for?
Importing API documentation, articles and reference pages as clean project evidence.
Why use it?
It makes external documentation easier to read and prevents copied web pages from filling project notes with irrelevant content.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00032 $0.00922
Opus 5 $0.00016 $0.00461
Sonnet 5 $0.00006 $0.00184
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00092

Security

Grade A, and why

clean-web-import scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 144 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Clean Web Import

Reduces noisy web content before it lands in the knowledge vault. Strips navigation, ads, footers, and boilerplate. Produces readable markdown stored in Evidence/imports/ -- clearly marked non-canonical.

When to use

  • Importing API documentation from a URL
  • Importing a blog post, spec, or reference page as project evidence
  • Importing any HTML document as background material
  • Any time you'd otherwise paste a URL directly into a note

Do NOT use for:

  • Internal project documents (use Evidence/raw/ directly)
  • Content that needs to stay verbatim (use raw import)
  • Large datasets or binary files

CLI usage

bedrock clean-import <url-or-file> --project .

Options:

  • --project <dir> -- project root (default: cwd)
  • --slug <name> -- override output filename (default: derived from URL/title)
  • --output-dir <dir> -- override output directory (default: agent-knowledge/Evidence/imports/)
  • --dry-run -- preview without writing
  • --json -- machine-readable output

The command:

  1. Fetches the URL or reads the local HTML file
  2. Extracts the main content (strips nav, header, footer, ads, scripts)
  3. Converts to clean markdown
  4. Writes to Evidence/imports/<slug>.md with proper frontmatter
  5. Prints the output path

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
