double-entry-ledger-fintech-expert

double-entry-ledger-fintech-expert is a skill for Cursor from roedyrustam/vibes-plug. It costs 79 tokens per session (3,377 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A guide to building accounting systems that record every money movement as balanced, permanent journal entries. It covers TigerBeetle, multi-currency integer amounts, escrow holds, and daily reconciliation, which checks records against payment data.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when designing digital wallets, marketplace escrow, payment ledgers, or other financial systems that need reliable transaction records and balance checks.
Why use it?
It helps avoid incorrect balances caused by changing a single balance field or using imprecise decimal arithmetic. It also provides a structured way to trace and correct payment records.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00079 $0.03377
Opus 5.5 $0.00032 $0.01351
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00016 $0.00675
Haiku 4.5 $0.00008 $0.00338

Security

Grade A, and why

double-entry-ledger-fintech-expert scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Description

Mission-critical financial engineering guide for designing immutable Double-Entry Accounting Ledgers. Never track money using a mutable users.balance = users.balance - 100 column alone. Covers append-only journal entries, zero-sum balanced postings ($\sum \text{Debits} = \sum \text{Credits}$), two-phase pending/posted escrow holds, TigerBeetle high-throughput financial accounting, integer minor-unit arithmetic (BIGINT), and daily webhook-to-ledger reconciliation.

Trigger Conditions

  • Building digital wallets, marketplace escrow systems, split payouts, or M2M agent clearing houses.
  • Recording payment gateway webhooks (DOKU SNAP BI, Stripe, Xendit) into an auditable internal ledger.
  • Implementing two-phase authorization holds (pending balance vs available balance).
  • Preventing floating-point rounding bugs (0.1 + 0.2 !== 0.3) and race-condition double-spends.

Core Ledger Invariants

Invariant Mathematical / Architectural Rule Enforcement Mechanism
I-01: Zero-Sum Conservation Every transaction must contain $\ge 2$ postings where $\sum \text{debits} - \sum \text{credits} = 0$. Database trigger + application transaction check
I-02: Strict Immutability ledger_transactions and ledger_entries are strictly append-only (INSERT only). Corrections require a compensating reversal entry. PostgreSQL BEFORE UPDATE OR DELETE trigger raising exception
I-03: Integer Minor Units Store all monetary values as BIGINT in minor units (e.g., IDR sen/rupiah, USD cents). FLOAT/DOUBLE are strictly forbidden. BIGINT NOT NULL CHECK (amount_minor > 0)
I-04: Canonical Lock Ordering Lock accounts in deterministic ascending UUID order (ORDER BY id ASC FOR UPDATE) to eliminate AB-BA database deadlocks. Sorted SELECT ... FOR UPDATE query

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
