Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00134 | $0.01412 |
| Opus 5.5 | $0.00054 | $0.00565 |
| Sonnet 5.5 | $0.00027 | $0.00282 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00013 | $0.00141 |
Grade A, and why
cost-drift scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured today.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 136 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Cost Drift
Run finfocus overview on a Pulumi stack, flag resources whose actual spend
has moved away from the projection, and write COST_DRIFT.md.
Install: npx skills add rshade/finfocus -s cost-drift.
Required CLI: finfocus v0.5.0 or newer. Update this line with the release the skill was last run against.
Core principle: use the drift the CLI computes. Do not query billing APIs,
and do not turn a missing costDrift into "no drift".
Pulumi only. overview has no Terraform input as of v0.5.0. For a Terraform
project, run the cost-check skill and say that drift is not available. Edit
this paragraph when that changes.
1. Detect the project
Look for Pulumi.yaml or Pulumi.yml in this directory or a parent. If there
is none, stop: "No Pulumi project detected."
2. Preflight
command -v finfocus
finfocus --version
finfocus plugin list --output json
- No binary: stop and point to the
finfocus-installskill. - Version below the required one: stop and print both versions. A build such
as
v0.5.0-6-g3cb7dedcounts as v0.5.0. An unparseable version, or0.1.0with no leadingv(an unstamped source build), continues, and the report says "version unverified". - No plugin whose
capabilitiesincludeactual_costs: stop. Drift needs a plugin that returns billing data. Point tofinfocus-install.
Every failure and its handling: references/failure-modes.md.
3. Load thresholds and baseline
Read the drift: section of .cost-check.yml. Absent keys use the defaults:
references/thresholds.md. If a previous
COST_DRIFT.md exists, keep its drifting-resource count and actual total for
the trend.
4. Run the CLI
finfocus overview --output json --yes
finfocus overview --output json --yes --stack <stack> --from 2026-10-01
finfocus overview --output json --yes --state-only
What ships with it
6 files beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

cost-drift is a skill published in the GitHub repository rshade/finfocus (10 stars, last pushed today), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 134 tokens to every session and 1,412 once invoked, about $0.0005 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-20.

cost-optimization
Cloud Cost Optimization & FinOps: Helps analyze and reduce cloud infrastructure costs, optimize resource usage, implement FinOps practices, and find savings opportunities. Use whenever the user mentions 'cloud costs', 'AWS bill', 'cost optimization', 'FinOps', 'right-sizing', 'reserved instances', 'savings plans'…

AWS Cost Explorer — spending analysis, service breakdowns, forecasts, cost anomalies. Use when analyzing AWS spending, investigating cost spikes, reviewing network cost drivers like NAT Gateway, or forecasting next month's bill.
finops-expert
Expert-level cloud financial operations, cost optimization, and cloud economics. Use when the user mentions cloud cost, optimization, cloud economics, or AWS cost, or when the task involves FinOps Fundamentals, Cost Management, FinOps Practices, or Cost Visibility.
cloud-costs
Use nable's cost tools when the user asks what something costs, why a cloud or AI bill went up, what their AI coding spend is, or before launching, resizing or destroying infrastructure. Also explains how to respond when the nable guard asks for confirmation before a command runs.

Use before launching GPU or other large cloud resources at a startup running on cloud credits, or when asked how long the credits will last.
