context

context is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from rvdbreemen/adr-kit. It costs 20 tokens per session (203 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A read-only process for finding Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) relevant to a task. ADRs are documents that record important technical choices.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it with a task topic to search the project's ADR index and inspect the matching source documents. It reports when no reliable decision was found.
Why use it?
It helps developers find applicable project decisions before changing code, while distinguishing accepted decisions from proposals.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00020 $0.00203
Opus 5 $0.00010 $0.00102
Sonnet 5 $0.00004 $0.00041
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00020

Measured 4d ago against content hash 28bf3de0af76, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

context scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

ADR context

Invoke explicitly with $adr-kit:context when needed. Resolve <plugin-root> from this installed skill. Use only bundled, local ADR Kit tools and follow this canonical workflow:

  1. Take a short task topic and call the adr-kit.adr_context MCP tool with the absolute project root and limit 5; include known paths, components, symbols, topics, lifecycle, or authority filters.
  2. Treat governing Accepted and advisory Proposed records separately, summarize explainable matches with source paths, and open only returned source ADRs before stating a binding constraint.
  3. Never invent a constraint when results are empty; report index fallback or strict-index failure explicitly.

Do not contact another model or mutate user-owned instructions.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

context is a skill published in the GitHub repository rvdbreemen/adr-kit (5 stars, last pushed 7d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 20 tokens to every session and 203 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.

decision-memory

Use when planning, designing, reviewing, or changing code in a repository that keeps ADRs (usually docs/adr) — to load the decisions that already govern the work, check a plan or diff against them, or record a new decision.
