nextjs-seo-commerce

nextjs-seo-commerce is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from s0vers/next-app-i18n-starter. It costs 82 tokens per session (1,060 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

An SEO guide for online stores built with Next.js. SEO, or search engine optimization, is the work of helping search engines find and correctly describe store pages, products, prices, and stock.

In plain words
What is it for?
Launching or auditing product pages, handling filters and variants, managing out-of-stock or discontinued items, supporting currencies and regions, and preparing product markup or merchant feeds.
Why use it?
Stores can create many similar URLs for categories, filters, variants, currencies, and regions. This guide helps decide which pages search engines should list and keeps product information consistent across pages and feeds.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00082 $0.01060
Opus 5.5 $0.00033 $0.00424
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00016 $0.00212
Haiku 4.5 $0.00008 $0.00106

Measured 16d ago against content hash 7c88bc3efb90, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-10-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

nextjs-seo-commerce scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 16d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Commerce SEO for Next.js

A store multiplies URLs: categories, facets, variants, regions. Most commerce SEO is choosing which of them deserve an index entry, then keeping price and stock honest across every surface that shows them.

Before any product work, confirm the URL passes the five-question indexing gate in nextjs-seo-technical. In short: 200 without cookies, not blocked, no noindex, self-canonical, linked and in the sitemap.

Read

Task Reference
Which URLs to index, facets, variants, out-of-stock and discontinued products, currency and regional markets, markup and feeds, page checklists Commerce and products

Read the gate section first. The business model (own inventory, marketplace, subscription, digital) changes the answers.

Rules

  1. Never redirect a removed or discontinued product to the homepage. Use 404, 410, or the true successor. It reads as a soft 404. [doc]
  2. Never put Product markup on a category page. Use BreadcrumbList. Category pages are not merchant listings. [doc]
  3. Price, currency, and availability in markup and feeds match the visible page. A mismatch gets the listing disapproved. [doc]
  4. A currency is not a market. Share one URL per language unless the page content differs by country, and never redirect by IP or cookie. [doc]
  5. A temporary stock-out keeps the page at 200 with the right availability. Remove or redirect only when the product is gone for good, because a page removed and re-added loses its history. [practice]
  6. Faceted and filtered URLs are indexable only when they match a real search demand and have unique copy. Otherwise canonicalize to the base category or block them from internal links. [doc]

Working method

  1. Orient. Read the root AGENTS.md if the project has one, the route and its rendered output, and the file that builds page metadata. Never read .env. Done when you can name that file.
  2. Frame. Write the URL set, page type, locale or market, and target outcome, one line each. Ask only when an answer changes the work, and state the default you will use if nobody answers. Done when all four lines exist and every open question is asked or carries a stated default.
  3. Change and verify. Make the smallest change with the project's own helpers. When a server is running and the nextjs-seo-technical skill is installed, run its scripts/verify-seo.mjs (in this starter: bun run seo:verify), then the project's lint and build. Done when every check ends in one of the four verdicts below.
  4. Report, in the shape below.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
