sfnext-create-vertical

sfnext-create-vertical is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from SalesforceCommerceCloud/b2c-developer-tooling. It costs 101 tokens per session (1,486 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A workflow for creating a new Storefront Next brand theme or storefront variant by changing shared design tokens, typography, dark mode, and related Figma assets. Design tokens are named settings for values such as colors and type styles.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to create a new commerce vertical, change a storefront palette, adjust typography, or prepare the matching Figma kit.
Why use it?
It helps rebrand a storefront while keeping shared components and infrastructure intact instead of copying the whole codebase.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00101 $0.01486
Opus 5 $0.00051 $0.00743
Sonnet 5 $0.00020 $0.00297
Haiku 4.5 $0.00010 $0.00149

Security

Grade A, and why

sfnext-create-vertical scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Create a Vertical Skill

This skill is the entrypoint for creating a new Storefront Next vertical — a brand theme or storefront variant (e.g. Beauty, Furniture, Grocery) layered on top of the shared template without forking shared code.

A vertical is built almost entirely from design tokens. The golden rule of the token system makes the whole approach possible:

Never use a raw hex value, RGB value, or hardcoded color in any component or CSS file. Always use a semantic Tailwind utility that maps to a CSS variable.

See Token System Reference for the full token map and semantic class meanings.

What a vertical is — and is not

A vertical is A vertical is not
Token value changes in src/theme/tokens/brand.css Forking src/components/ui/ primitives
Optional vertical composition in src/components/ and src/extensions/<vertical>/ Editing core.css, header.css, status.css, swatch.css, or components.css
Optional typography and i18n content Adding if (vertical) branches to shared components

Only src/theme/tokens/brand.css changes between verticals. Everything else is shared infrastructure.

Before you start — read the token layer first

  1. Read src/theme/tokens/brand.css — understand the current palette structure before defining new values.
  2. Read src/theme/tokens/core.css — understand how brand values map to semantic roles.
  3. Read src/theme/tailwind.css — understand the CSS variable → Tailwind utility bridge.

Do not define any new token values until you have read these three files.

Workflow

1. Establish the brand palette

Capture from the brand:

  • Brand name
  • Light/dark foreground + background pairs
  • Signature accent / primary color
  • Header surface treatment (dark vs light header)
  • Logo treatment and typography

Update only values in src/theme/tokens/brand.css — do not rename variables.

WCAG contrast check. After defining the palette, verify AA contrast (4.5:1 for normal text):

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
