Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00034 | $0.01521 |
| Opus 5.5 | $0.00014 | $0.00608 |
| Sonnet 5.5 | $0.00007 | $0.00304 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00003 | $0.00152 |
Grade A, and why
private-software-distribution scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 95 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Ships signed, self-updating builds to closed testers from a Cloudflare Worker, with no public downloads. It suits any updater that can send an auth header and verify a signature. This is a pattern to adapt, so read the updater's own docs for the client side.
How it works
- Client sends
GETfeed withAuthorization: Bearer <token>. - Worker looks up
sha256(token)in KV. Unknown gets 401, over a rate limit gets 429. - Registered client gets the feed from R2, then
GET /download/<archive>with the same header. - Client verifies the signature against its embedded public key, then installs.
Two separate controls:
- Access comes from the Worker. KV holds only SHA-256 hashes of tokens, so a KV leak yields nothing usable.
- Integrity comes from the signature. The client accepts only archives signed by the key it shipped with, so a compromised bucket or Worker can't push code to testers.
Per project: a Worker, an R2 bucket, a KV namespace, a hostname and an update signing key. Releases run locally, so signing keys stay off CI.
Setup
- Ask the user for the project name, a hostname on their Cloudflare zone, and which rate limit namespaces are in use.
- Copy
assets/into the project root and renamepackage.json.tmpltopackage.json. Fill inwrangler.jsonc, and add the feed file toROUTEinsrc/index.jsif it isn'tlatest.jsonorappcast.xml. - Generate the update key with the updater's tool and embed the public half in the client.
- Provision Cloudflare and deploy.
- Add the client.
- Add a single release command, such as
make release, following the pipeline below. - Write a
RELEASING.mdin the project covering releases, recovery, tester tokens and key rules, so operating it needs nothing from this skill. - Release, add a token with
scripts/beta-token.sh add <label>, and give it and the first build to a tester by hand. Release again and confirm the first build updates itself.
Leave these to the user: key passwords, private key backups, sending tokens. Confirm before anything that publishes or deploys.
What ships with it
5 files beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

private-software-distribution is a skill published in the GitHub repository sammcj/agentic-coding (168 stars, last pushed 2d ago), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 34 tokens to every session and 1,521 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-11-05.
