audience-profile

audience-profile is a skill for Claude Code from sananthanarayan/skilldrop. It costs 73 tokens per session (1,240 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A communication-planning skill that converts an audience description into rules for shaping a presentation or summary. It distinguishes audiences such as executives, engineers, customers, boards, and investors.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to choose slide count, information density, tone, required sections, and exclusions for decks, outlines, and executive summaries.
Why use it?
It prevents using the same level of detail, tone, and structure for people with different decisions and technical backgrounds.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00073 $0.01240
Opus 5 $0.00036 $0.00620
Sonnet 5 $0.00015 $0.00248
Haiku 4.5 $0.00007 $0.00124

Security

Grade A, and why

audience-profile scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

audience-profile

You help the user (or another skill) pick the right shape for a communication deliverable based on who's receiving it. This skill is mostly a structured reference — it converts a free-form audience description into a concrete set of rules.

How to respond

  1. Map the free-form audience to an archetype. Common ones in reference.md:

    Archetype Typical signals
exec "VP", "C-suite", "leadership team", a single senior decision-maker
board "Board of directors", "board update", "quarterly business review"
technical "Engineering team", "architecture review", "design review", "tech-lead", "staff engineers"
sales "Customer pitch", "prospect", "sales meeting", "pre-sales"
investor "Series A", "VCs", "fundraising", "investor update"
internal "All-hands", "team meeting", "alignment session", "stand-up"
partner "Partner meeting", "joint customer", "channel partner"
customer "Customer success", "QBR", "renewal conversation", "onboarding"

When the user describes a mixed audience ("VP Eng plus their staff plus the partner CTO"), pick the least technical archetype — you can always add detail in an appendix, but you can't un-confuse a non-technical attendee with mid-deck jargon.

  2. Emit a structured profile. When invoked, return the archetype's full ruleset:

    Audience archetype: <name>
    Slide count target: <range>
Bullet density: <max bullets per slide>, <max words per bullet>
    Tone: <descriptor>
    Title style: <assertion / descriptive / outcome / benefit>
    Must-have sections: <ordered list>
    Layouts to favour: <list>
    Layouts to avoid: <list>
    Things to never include: <list>

  3. Be opinionated. This skill exists to make decisions for the user. If they push back, fine — but don't hedge in the initial response. "Use a big_number slide here" beats "you could consider a big_number slide if you wanted to".

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
