Getting it into your agent
It runs from inside its repository, so the clone comes first — what it calls does not travel with the file alone.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00134 | $0.02213 |
| Opus 5.5 | $0.00054 | $0.00885 |
| Sonnet 5.5 | $0.00027 | $0.00443 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00013 | $0.00221 |
Grade A, and why
powerbi-paginated-reports scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 16d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 163 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Paginated reports (RDL)
Paginated reports are the right answer to a narrow but unavoidable set of requirements: output that must paginate predictably, print to a fixed layout, carry a regulatory format, or leave the platform as a PDF or Excel file on a schedule. An interactive Power BI report cannot do those things well, and trying to make it do them is how teams end up with a report nobody trusts and a page that prints across four sheets.
Decide the format before building anything:
| Requirement | Build |
|---|---|
| Explore, filter, cross-highlight, drill | interactive report — powerbi-create-pbi-report |
| Print to a fixed page size; page headers/footers; page breaks you control | paginated (RDL) |
| A table of thousands of rows the user will read or export in full | paginated |
| Invoice, statement, remittance, compliance filing, regulator submission | paginated |
| Scheduled PDF or XLSX to an inbox or a file share | paginated + Export To File API |
| Both — a dashboard that drills to a printable detail | interactive, with a paginated report as the drillthrough target |
Say this out loud when a user asks for "a report that prints properly". The format choice is the decision that determines whether the rest of the work succeeds.
Prerequisites
| Requirement | Notes |
|---|---|
| Power BI Report Builder | Windows. The authoring tool. Download — also the source of the TOM and ADOMD assemblies pbi-agent uses for Desktop work |
| Workspace on Fabric capacity or Premium / PPU | Paginated reports do not run in a Pro-only workspace |
| Build permission on the data source | Semantic model, SQL, or whatever the dataset queries |
fab CLI |

RDL structure
An .rdl file is XML. That matters: it is diffable, scriptable and reviewable, so paginated
reports belong in source control alongside the PBIP projects. The parts that carry the design:
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

powerbi-paginated-reports is a skill published in the GitHub repository santoshkanthety/powerbi-agent (3 stars, last pushed 17d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 134 tokens to every session and 2,213 once invoked, about $0.0005 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-07.
