api-docs

Guidance for writing API documentation: descriptions of software endpoints, which are URLs that applications use to exchange data.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when documenting API routes or integrations, including HTTP methods, parameters, request bodies, response formats, and OpenAPI naming.
Why use it?
It provides a consistent structure for documenting requests, authentication, responses, errors, and examples so developers can use an API correctly.

One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Made for: Claude Code, Codex.

Per session 20 Skills are progressive disclosure: only the name and description are preloaded; the body loads when the skill is used.
When invoked 595 The whole file, excluding the scripts and references it only reads on demand.
Security scan A 1 finding. Scan, not verified.
Origin original No closer match found in the catalogue.
Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00020 $0.00595
Opus 5 $0.00010 $0.00298
Sonnet 5 $0.00004 $0.00119
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00060

Measured 2d ago against content hash 95eea7a90759, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

api-docs scanned grade A with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

## [Method] /path/to/endpoint

[Brief description of what this endpoint does]

### Authentication
Requires Bearer token in Authorization header.

### Request

#### Headers
| Header | Type | Required | Description |
|--------|------|----------|-------------|
| Authorization | string | Yes | Bearer token |

#### Path Parameters
| Parameter | Type | Description |
|-----------|------|-------------|
| id | string | Resource ID |

#### Query Parameters
| Parameter | Type | Default | Description |
|-----------|------|---------|-------------|
| limit | integer | 20 | Max results |

#### Request Body
```json
{
  "name": "string",
  "email": "string"
}
Response
Success (200)
{
  "id": "123",
  "name": "Example",
  "created_at": "2024-01-01T00:00:00Z"
}
Error (400)
{
  "error": "validation_error",
  "message": "Email is required"
}
Example
curl -X POST https://api.example.com/users \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"name": "John", "email": "[email protected]"}'
## OpenAPI Best Practices
### Operation IDs
Use consistent, descriptive operation IDs:
- `createUser`, `getUser`, `updateUser`, `deleteUser`
- `listOrders`, `getOrderById`
### Descriptions
- Endpoint description: What it does
- Parameter descriptions: What each param controls
- Response descriptions: What each status means
### Examples
Include realistic examples for:
- Request bodies
- Responses
- Error cases
## Error Documentation
| Status | Meaning | When Used |
|--------|---------|-----------|
| 400 | Bad Request | Invalid input |
| 401 | Unauthorized | Missing/invalid auth |
| 403 | Forbidden | Insufficient permissions |
| 404 | Not Found | Resource doesn't exist |
| 429 | Too Many Requests | Rate limited |
| 500 | Server Error | Internal error |
## SDK Documentation
### Quick Start
```markdown
## Installation

npm install @company/sdk

## Usage

import { Client } from '@company/sdk';

const client = new Client({ apiKey: 'your-key' });
const result = await client.resources.list();

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

api-docs is a skill published in the GitHub repository saolalab/clawforce (38 stars, last pushed 4mo ago), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 20 tokens to every session and 595 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 1 finding (makes network calls). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
