GPTkms: Skill for Codex

.codex/skills/kms-promote-session-insights/SKILL.md

kms-promote-session-insights is a skill for Codex from sc28249782/GPTkms. It costs 94 tokens per session (387 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A skill for saving stable, reusable project lessons in a shared knowledge base. It checks whether an insight is broadly useful and records where it came from.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to save reusable workflows, preferences, architectural lessons, and other well-supported insights for later sessions.
Why use it?
It prevents one-off notes or uncertain ideas from being promoted as general knowledge, while preserving patterns that can help in future projects.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00094 $0.00387
Opus 5 $0.00047 $0.00193
Sonnet 5 $0.00019 $0.00077
Haiku 4.5 $0.00009 $0.00039

Measured 11d ago against content hash 258e4dd1ae02, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-11, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

kms-promote-session-insights scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Kms Promote Session Insights

Use this skill to turn project-scoped learning into curated global memory.

Keep the promotion bar high. Most notes should stay local until they prove reusable.

Read references/promotion-guide.md when you need the full decision checklist or promotion template.

Workflow

  1. Identify the candidate page in project scope.
  2. Confirm that it is reusable beyond the current repo.
  3. Run kms_find_conflicts if a similar global concept may already exist.
  4. Promote with kms_promote_candidate.
  5. Use a target page path and title that match the global taxonomy.
  6. Add a short promotion note that explains why the insight is globally reusable.

Promote only when true

  • The page captures a reusable pattern, not just a one-off project detail.
  • The lesson is understandable without the original chat transcript.
  • The page has enough provenance to trust later.
  • The title and tags will make sense to a future project.

Do not promote when false

  • The insight only matters to one client or repo.
  • The page is still exploratory, contradictory, or weakly sourced.
  • The same concept already exists globally and only needs a small update.

Preferred output

  • State the source project page.
  • State the chosen global target page.
  • State why the insight cleared the promotion bar.
  • Include any conflict check result if one was needed.

What ships with it

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
