clawker: Skill for Claude Code

.agents/skills/agent-files/SKILL.md

agent-files is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from schmitthub/clawker. It costs 41 tokens per session (2,021 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

Guidance for changing agent configuration files and related project settings, including AGENTS.md files, subagents, skills, command guards, shared notes, and Claude Code or Codex settings.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when adding or editing agent instructions, links, skills, subagents, safeguards, shared memories, or coding-agent configuration.
Why use it?
It helps keep the instructions and settings that control coding agents consistent when they are added or changed.

Skill for Claude CodeCodex

Written for no agent in particular: nothing here depends on one. Also seen: reads .claude/ paths; mentions CLAUDE.md; mentions subagents.

This is schmitthub/clawker's own configuration. It tells Claude Code and Codex how to work on clawker itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything clawker configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00041 $0.02021
Opus 5.5 $0.00016 $0.00808
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00008 $0.00404
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00202

Security

Grade A, and why

agent-files scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 156 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

agent-files

This directory contains harness-independent project content. Claude Code and Codex use one set of project instructions. Start with the root AGENTS.md; it names the rules, skills, and references for the task. Each regular AGENTS.md has a sibling CLAUDE.md link with the relative target AGENTS.md, including package instructions.

File ownership

  • Project and package instructions: Root and package AGENTS.md. Claude reads sibling CLAUDE.md links; Codex reads AGENTS.md.
  • Conventions and design knowledge: Serena memories under .serena/memories/. There is no rule directory; a mandatory constraint goes in the root or a package AGENTS.md.
  • Skills: skills/*/SKILL.md. Codex discovers the shared directory; .claude/skills links to it.
  • Development templates: templates/. Both use the shared files.
  • Durable project memory: ../.serena/memories/. Both use Serena or read the shared memory files.
  • Command guards: hooks/. Registered in both native configurations.
  • Subagents: skills/<name>/agents/claude.md, skills/<name>/agents/codex.toml. .claude/agents/<name>.md links to the Claude file; .codex/config.toml names the Codex file.
  • GitHub PR review: ../.github/copilot-instructions.md and ../.github/skills/. GitHub review instructions use the same rule directory.

Use the initiative skill to plan development or testing across conversations and resume one task at a time. Its reusable template lives in the skill's assets/ directory. Plans and task results live in the shared Serena memory graph.

Native configuration belongs to its harness:

  • .claude/settings.json, .claude/settings.local.json.example, and Claude-only .claude/hooks/ files are regular native files. .claude/agents/ holds links to skill sidecars or Claude-only agents.
  • .codex/config.toml contains Codex settings and names the Codex subagent files.
  • Both native configurations call the shared command guards in .agents/hooks/.
  • Harness metadata for a skill lives in that skill's agents/ directory: openai.yaml for Codex skill policy, claude.md and codex.toml for subagent definitions.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
